Asunto: [U21] Defenders
Oh, that's not good. Should I ask to have him relisted? Went cheaply.
Anyone keen on taking Franklin off my hands?
Ace Franklin, age: 23
club: Silent Sokker Team, country: Australia
value : 5 796 000 zł
wage: 72 200 zł
divine [17] form
unearthly [16] tactical discipline
height: 178 cm, weight: 76.2 kg, BMI: 24.05
formidable [11] stamina tragic [0] keeper
divine [17] pace magical [15] defender
very good [9] technique good [7] playmaker
outstanding [12] passing adequate [6] striker
He's the only one in a need of def training, so will probably have to say goodbye. Would provide a few more weeks but a few other guys may get hurt, so the easiest and best option for now is to painfully break up :(

It's probably worth an ask. You'll probably get no as an answer but given the site went down and there were people who wanted to bid but couldn't get on, it would make sense for him to be relisted
I might be able to take Franklin & train (would complete the last piece of my defence rebuild), but daresay he’ll attract interest from elsewhere.

There was a lot of interest in him from other NT managers, despite the sale time. Got him in the end.
A nice little profit for you, Vampyr. :)
What were his skills when you bought him for 4k?

That's my first record of him in SA, can't remember if these were the exact skills at the time of purchasing.
Didn't expect to get that much and so many people active that late in the middle of the week.
The coin received equaled the amount spent on Snowy, so we may say that we're even :D

That's a lot of dough for a defender. Seems like talented young Aussies are in high demand. Is he close to the level needed to play for Australia? Very high skills for a 23 year old.
Meanwhile, there's no interest in my defender. 2nd time listing and no nibbles. Makes me question whether my other trainees will be worth anything.
Brodie Galan, age: 18
value: 107 600 AU$, wage: 1 200 AU$
club: Apex, country: Australia
form [18] superdivine, tactical discipline [7] good
stamina [4] weak, keeper [0] tragic
pace [9] very good, defender [5] average
technique [4] weak, playmaker [1] hopeless
passing [3] poor, striker [2] unsatisfactory

Not yet. Still a little off unless we’ve dropped away in defense but they will get there in I’d guess 2-3 seasons.
The problem you have is your defender is 18 (almost 19) and has a very low defender and technique. You’d be better off if you have the space training defender up for a season or two and then you might get a bite. If you can get to 2x formidable/outstanding by 21.
Many people use filters so won’t even see your player with a defender of 5. Others are very picky about trainees especially if talent isn’t known.

I've been trying to forecast defenders to get to 12 pace/defence at 21. Is that still too low to aim for? From trying to buy players at that level, I see that around that level is where prices start to rise. Lopez has been a success and playing for the U21s. My other trainees are young and should be better than Galan at least.
It’s an age v skills curve. 18yos and younger are on the market every week so you’re competing heavily in that space and there are probably better options. By 21 for example talent has had a chance that players that previously looked trash become workable if they’ve been trained well. There’s also less 21yos on the market at any one time in the skill range you get to. I still wonder if even getting to 2x outstanding still won’t be enough without boosts to tech and pm but you may get a bid if you get it to 2x outstanding
I would say 12/12 at the age of 21 is mediocre. But it's only opinion ;)
In short term (U21) such player may have a potential to play on national level, but will such player go into adult NT with those skills? Not sure about that from Australia NT perspective :)

For a player like Lopez then, who is 13 pace/defence. What is a good age or skill level to sell for the highest price?
What people have said before is true but also, Galan is #6 def for his age so it's a hard position.
I think 13/13 (or 12/14, 14/12) is where a lot of Aus U21 NT players end their U21 year, so better than that, and they are in with a good shot at future honours, high talent and secondaries but at that level, then they will likely play too, anything less unless great secondaries, probably won't make it to seniors.
It has been good to see a general level of player, it means we are gaining depth for the senior NT
Saying that, 20yo Ponting is better than that and still has a season and a bit to train, but he is an exception to the rule
