So most should be aware if you check your press room or read the international forums but they have introduced coach retirement where the age of 60 has a small chance of retiring the end of the season and that increases the older they get and the more your results are below expectations.
I think I’m likely losing 2 maybe 3 coaches off the bat when this kicks in but nothing I can’t handle.

It’s definitely good to know.
All 5 of mine are 60+, so for those in similar position, it’s worth thinking about for when the time comes.
If not wanting to play the “lottery”, some funds for the TM will be required.
The only thing I’m peeved with is the TM will be more competitive in the initial period, & self-retiring coaches will be costly to some.

I still think the recruitment feature especially now will be the way to go. This is now going to be an ongoing thing so I don’t expect coach prices to return to normal pricing.
I’m inclined to agree. It got me thinking it might be time to start rolling the dice with a once a week “spin”, to see if I can get lucky with replacing main coach & youth coach.
The wait and see approach could lead to panic mode if a main coach suddenly announces they’re reaching for their pipe and slippers.

I'm personally on the wait and see fence, especially given how sokker 'works' but there are pros and cons either way.
The biggest pro to spinning now - it reduces season expectations, therefore you will gain a small amount more week to week based on your supporters not being as disappointed/being more elated.
The biggest pro to spinning later - if your coach wages are already great, then theres no guarantee you will get as good wages, or a guarantee your coach will even retire quickly, resulting in a week on week slight increase in expenses. It also allows you to spin a bunch and pick a couple of coaches, although you could just prematurely retire an older coach who doesn't want to retire yet anyway

Thanks for the tip. Looks like next season will be the last for 3 of my coaches. Especially my junior coach at the ripe age of 107.
You’ll know end of this season whether your coaches will retire end of next season. Probably no rush to replace them yet until you know what you’re looking at and then you have a full season to do something about it.
That was going to be my follow up question - as far as notice period goes for any retiring coach.
I’d like to think we’d get some sort of warning, rather than the now you see him, now you don’t approach.

It is my understanding that a coach announcement to retire happens beginning of season and they retire at the end of that next season. Alternatively it may be end of this season and you get a full season longer. If you fail to get any notices that means you get at least 2 seasons more with the coach. This will happen every season from now on.
Thanks Cometer.
Handy that fellow Oz managers can digest easily here.
Definitely worth keeping an eye on TM for a new manager & possible swaps if finding a reasonably priced gem…. & hopefully random deadlines continue (I think that’s how it works now, although maybe tailored for certain time zones).
Personally a bit gutted knowing my youth coach upgrade might not be with me as long as first thought; having purchased prior to knowing of the changes…. nice challenge to replace like for like at similar price. :)

I’ve always used the recruitment rather than the TM for coaches so I’m less likely to have those older than 100. I’m not sure the trainer market will be worth it though as everyone will be recruiting mostly and if they’re not contracted they don’t end on the TM. Has to be contracted first. So I’m expecting slim pickings and likely only old coaches on the tm anyway. We shall see
There'll be a few 100yo coaches on the TM. Even more competition for coaches than there already is. Maybe the devs should feed in some coaches, to rebalance it. Recruitment tool gets expensive quickly.
Certainly can get expensive quickly but can also not at the same time. Can’t remember how much it took for my unearthly but I thought it was somewhere between 5-10m. I’m just not sure if it now becomes the better value if everyone is competing for coaches every x seasons. The 100yo on the market of any survive will be difficult to justify as you may just get that season with them in all likeliness. Could be a cheap way to get unearthly coaches for short term stints though
Depends how many will try that, if too many the prices will be high.
Plus people will probably use those unearthlies and start looking for younger ones close to the end of season when he’s supposed to retire, at least that would be logical

Yeah it’s that whole wait and see what plays out scenario against the certainty of recruiting your own. Good thing is whatever way we have time to assess both aspects before deciding which way. Personally I’m more a fan of recruiting my own and just taking the best of what I have after a certain amount of money if I haven’t got the right coach by then. I might not even have any retire immediately anyway though I suspect there’s a decent chance for 2 of my assistants to.
There were a few coaches on TM, in their 50’s this week ….@ incred/brill or better, with 4 or more skills =>magical.
Slim pickings if wanting coaches in their 40s.
