Can definitely say after watching my match the result was probably a fair one. Got exposed by lack of pace on my defenders especially and lack of stamina in some other key positions. I can correct for that and was probably a good thing to see how that goes against teams with more skill then bots. Again, wouldn't have played that tactic if I was expecting them to use mostly first XI choices but given I did the result seemed to play out fair.
Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of playing my 2nd team on Sunday - our A League far too competitive for that.
Had I played my 1st XI, safe to say the 1-4 would be reversed. :)

If you compare the average marks, your 2nd team is roughly equivalent to my 1st team which means that it was a somewhat fair competition. In the next game, I might most probably go with my 2nd team though because in the NFL, I want to test my main team against a team that plays with avg mark of 50.
Last team we met where our avg mark was similar, you got the better of my team Pune FC - Melbourne Mongrels 1:2.

Seems like lately it's better to be the worse team to win :)
Bro, you should have watched the game. The shot count, average mark and even play in half are not good parameters to go by. Yes, they give you a little idea about the game but it still doesn't give you the complete picture. My defenders closed the open spaces of Melbourne attackers due to which their attackers had to resolve to shoot from distance. Since my forwards had open spaces, they went for the run instead of shooting from afar. Some of the shots from Melbourne were good but not very threatening, my GK Smirti did a good job in those situations. I also many times win games even though my play in half is very poor and shot count is low because my tactic is more of a counter-attacking one where I am ok with giving the midfield to the opposition but try to place my strikers in good positions and keep my defence strong. And that's why even in wins, my shot count and play in half is usually bad.

Is that the Sam Allardyce/Jose tactic of "park the bus & go long"? I've wondered about trying that myself & might give it a go. :)
Nothing to lose in coming weeks where I won't be expected to win.

Yes, very similar to park the bus but the difference is that I keep my mids a little bit ahead especially in attack which leaves an open midfield for the opposition which they can leverage and thus sometimes it gets a bit tricky and can even be frustrating to watch since you don't have the ball for prolonged periods. In the previous season against Comets, I used the same tactic where I had a strong 1st half and poor 2nd halfs in which Comets had complete control over the midfield. That was because when I attacked, my mids were too far ahead and when my attack used to go in vain, their mids had open space in the middle since my mids were behind them. Sometimes, this tactic works and sometimes it doesn't. Against weaker teams, it's a bit difficult to get the win but against stronger teams you tend to hold your ground, that's what I've observed. In the recent games, I've scraped through against relatively weaker teams in the NFL and Fed Cup but almost always managed to get the win and against stronger teams, it's more of a coin toss. I have given the link of our encounter last season where you managed to win and I used the same tactic as today.

It was just a joke based on some of the results we saw in Australia in the last week or two. As you say, I haven't watched the match, and don't plan on it :)
Nor do I...& it was my team!! I haven't watched a match for seasons....league/cup included.
Maybe one day when crowds are allowed back. :D

I agree with you to some extent in regards to solely looking at things like possession territory and shots. If you give away enough shots though a quality striker will score even from range. Generally if I want to play defensive I'm looking at cutting out shots completely because I’m reducing my own shots as well. I’d therefore argue that those stats combined if they are one sided tend to result in a one sided result and when they don’t one can feel a little hard done by. Obviously watching the match is important because the tactic plays a big role too and you can exploit major weaknesses in tactics and win with fewer of the favourable stats. By having territory and possession you can usually increase your own chances. However, doing so may open up more and better % chances for the opponent though so it’s always a trade off.

Agreed. In the future, I'm also planning to create a possession based, consolidation based tactic and see how it goes. The issue with that is that I need strong mids for that and I don't have mids of really good quality so I prefer to play to my strengths i.e defending and attack. But it will still be interesting to see how my mids play in the possession based tactic.
Managed to knock down a team by 4 goals to none that had an average mark of greater than 10 as compared to mine. But it was mainly because he was using the Sokker default tactic that has just 2 defenders and plenty of open spaces at the back. He could have easily scored on 2 occasion and even then the score would have been 4-2.
But this raises the question: Maybe the Sokker devs need to give better default tactics to users instead of these very bland poor ones.

You’re probably fighting a lost cause on that one but I do agree with you. Many have tried over the last decade and none have succeeded thus far.
Maori All Blacks haven't conceded a single goal yet in this league. But that probably is because the average age and first squad average value is a bit high. But I'm not taking away anything from their brilliance, they have been sensational.

Top 5 goalscorers - I remember Kornelius very well from last season, was always threatening against my team but didn't manage to score. Good to see, Salgado outscoring Nietnagal. Has already looked way better than Tsagas who I sold last season.
15 Tencho Mladenov Māori All Blacks
5 Tihomir Cvetev Māori All Blacks
Karl Einar Kornelius The Comets
Anderson Salles Salgado Pune FC
4 Bartholomäus Nietnagel Pune FC
The recent match that I played against Chile_FC, although on a very poor pitch is the highest attended match of the league.

Does anyone know what's 'most active' in statistics?

Sorry, can't help. I only know the term 'active' being used for when the league is just that (with teams actively playing).
Interesting with match attendance - I keep meaning to drop pricing for my home games in this comp, as it should see greater attendance.
