Yeah, I gave you the first half by dropping my defensive line back, so it gave you time on the ball, but it was aimed at conserving my stamina as I knew how quickly you ran out last time.

Didn't know that stamina is based on distance run by the player. I thought that it's based on minutes played. Thanks for letting me know and the DEVs have done a pretty good job then.

Then at half time going 1 down I was quietly confident I'd run over the top and so I changed to the more offensive tactic to take control of the midfield like the last time and that worked really well for me until Galal got injured.

Yeah, I noticed that you brought your defenders a bit ahead and I really love it when the opposition brings their defenders forward.

Felt like everytime Marth or Svendstrup got side on they'd just run through your defense and always felt like it was a matter of time before they'd get one past but it didn't eventuate as often as I'd hoped.

I too felt that but offsides and some brilliant defending and goalkeeping saved me hehe.

On the other side, Portland Juniors FC get their first win of the tournament.

I might be wrong on the stamina issue but I did think it was tied to activity.

Edit: Rules seem to back me up though.

Stamina

During the match, the players get tired. When this occurs they become less accurate as they lose some of their skills. Only playmaking remains unchanged throughout the match. The degree of fatigue is not directly dependent on length of play but on the activity of the given player. The more he runs and participates in the game the more he gets tired. Players with higher stamina will suffer less fatigue than others. Also be aware that untrained stamina goes down in time.

Don't know about your training regime but I'm planning to put one of my mid on TL today in the evening (Sobczak, already on sale). You can have a look at him and see if he interests you to replace one of your recently sold mids.

I think just like in a normal friendly league, there is news about who is on TL, similarly we can inform each other about players from our team on TL and interested managers can buy them if the player suits the requirements. We don't need to mention the skills and all, just a simple 'My 3 players are on TL'. Of course, this is optional and not a compulsion but it will only benefit the club who advertises since he'll get an interested buyer.

Training DEF, so only mids I'm interested in need to be A League quality (or very close if lacking in pace, as I can give them some of that when training).

3 changes against Portland Juniors FC.

Ettehadieah in for MacVean (DEF)
Banchero replaces sold mid Sobczak.
Meelak in for Hadrioui (MID)

Cometerrrrrr !!! The "Cleaver from Canberra" strikes......leading 1-0 & then.....

35 minute.
Hotoleanu has been injured, he will have to be substituted. Henry comes on to the pitch
- best mid gone & will miss at least this week's league fixture

The teams leave the pitch at the end of the half. The fans applaud great play from both sides.
The statistics of play in the half: Melbourne Mongrels 58%, The Comets 42%.
Melbourne Mongrels - The Comets 1:0

50 minute.
Majurovski passes the ball on the spur of the moment. Ennuste approaches the ball. Franker brutally fouls the opponent. The referee takes the red card out of his top pocket, Franker goes straight to the changing room for an early bath. Ennuste is stretchered away. The injury looks serious. Ennuste is unable to continue playing. Buonavoglia comes on to the pitch.
- best striker gone & probably done for season....retirement looms

53 minute.
Vrkic has been injured, he will have to be substituted. Butterworth comes on to the pitch.
- def mid gone but can live with this one as support defender for 1st XI

Game changed immediately from this point, once my three were "carved up" by "the Cleaver".....1-2 in the end. Putting a call in to Razor Ruddock & Vinnie Jones for our next game.....whenever that may be. :D

A close game. I have never seen 3 players injured in the same game, bad luck for fantum. Without those 3 injuries, could've been a draw I guess and would have helped me with an additional cushion in terms of points. Cordero and Corino as center defs this time for Comets and I was kind of expecting that. Hadn't understood why both weren't in the center in the previous game.

Ouch that looks brutal. Haven’t seen the game but sounds like it wasn’t much of a friendky there. Can’t say I’ve seen 3 injuries in a match but yeah would rather have not done that to your side. I did end up playing with 10 though and forgot about red card orders because it’s not like I’ve had to worry about getting cards against bots. Sorry for that. I played Galal centre back I think due to better form but it may have been other factors like pace/tech or height. I often look for multiple factors to decide who plays where. Galal was still injured from the weekend so didn’t play him and hence the shift.

Yeah, was more surprised by it being 3 injured in 18 minutes. :o
