Asunto: Weekly Friendly Comp

Over to Pune FC to see if they can win by 4 goals in their friendly to take top spot :). 3 goal win makes the calculator come out.

Not quite sure what to say, should have won that easy on dominance alone but ended up stealing it with the last kick in the game from a 90th min long pass from deep in my defense to Krushkov who then executed a hail mary pass to Marth who struck the back of the net from range. You couldn't make that stuff up (actually some might say that's believable with the luck I tend to get). Absolute ripper strike from Marth just when I'd conceded RNG had done me in (which perhaps would have been deserving after last round).

Marth can't hit the net with an open net for the U21 NT but can from a totally unfavourable position. I'm confused.

To make matters worse, my subs didn't come on at 46min. I thought 46th min was an automatic stoppage and hence a guaranteed sub. Instead they came on at 56min. Have checked and I didn't make a typo (checked next match orders for Sunday and it was the lineup and orders from todays friendly). Just seems it didn't count the 46th min as an automatic stoppage. If I'm wrong then I'll have to change that up to 45th in future but I don't think I've ever had that happen in all the years I've played :)

Overall, much improved performance from Portland Juniors and had to check to see if it was their 1st XI or not and doesn't appear to have been.

Congrats on the win and with this I think you have sealed the top spot. I don't see my team winning by 3 goals in the final encounter 2 hours from now but hey, anything can happen. A few lucky goals at the start can pave the way for a big victory.

Might depend on whether I get chopped down again with injuries....it's been that sort of season for me, as it wasn't just last week.
Mix of first & second 'teamers' today as played some reserves in the league game. Only doubling up with a couple of players out of necessity due to injury & squad size. :)

Well played by Melbourne Mongrels as they deservingly get the 2-1 victory. My midfield was a bit weak as compared to your midfield and it didn't help that I place my defenders too far behind. My midfield has always been weak and usually my team relies on counter attack to win games but today it was not to be. The Comets officially top the table. Congratulations.

If it weren't for 1 of my defenders getting too nervous, it would have been a draw. But still in it for the 2nd leg.

My lot scraped a 1-0 away so in the box seat for 2nd leg. :)
I'll continue with my "magoos" for these games....playing 1st XI in league to hopefully keep the GD advantage.

2 of my newly pulled juniors are on TL and 1 Iranian NT defender (Ettehadieh).

A 2-1 away win for my team making it 3-3 after 2 legs. The 5 defender tactic seemed to work for my team.

Do you guys want a decider next week....cup format in case it's level?
Home advantage to Comets as they finished higher in the league?

My result was 3-1 so that gives me a 4-1 aggregate over Juniors. Happy enough as that was my 2nd XI.

I think let's keep it as a tie to keep the rivalry strong :D

We can start a new league next season, hopefully with additional 1-2 new clubs, we can also contact clubs from NZ next season.

Congrats and probably fitting it was 3-3 on aggregate. Been pretty close every time. I ended up resting Onut who may have made a difference. Need to make sure I had players available for Sunday’s title deciding league match. Still have a chance to AP but would need all results to go my way.
