As you all know, I sent out a message to find out where current clubs sit fanclub members wise (as this is the all important number for 'league prestige').

There were a number of responses from those who didn't know what this number was or what it meant, which was good to be able to share some knowledge.

I got 14/21 replies which was a pretty good turnout really and the results are as follows. If anyone replies later, I will add them to the list.

Having looked at the more recent posts on this thread, it seems for many there has been a pretty decent drop in fans since the new expectations came in to play.

Thanks to everyone who was open to sharing. I hope you find it interesting seeing where others are. This would also give some indication of what the supporters are expecting and how detrimental losses to certain teams could be to your fans, although the longer everyone stays playing, the more these numbers will creep up.

Yeah I’m down from 23,012 to under 2,200 :p.

Almost fell off my chair when I saw I gained 10 fans today.

Unfortunately ratings don't correspond to fanclub members.
The only thing that correlates with fanclub members is the number of fanclub members of those within your league (and your ability to beat them).
It's why all the top historical records, up near the 3000 mark, are from when Australia had many many more users.

Given the current A-League ranges from 1300 to 2600 fanclub members, I would expect the 'league prestige' to be somewhere in the 1900-2100 mark, and unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about it other than hope people stick with the game, and more people join the Australia country so that bots stop hurting the fanclub members of those in div 2 so much, and to lessen how much it hurts when 1/4 league auto promotes with 1500 fanclub members.

Also wrecked by the new fan expectations system so top teams can never reach madly in love and thus never gain fans

Well I tricked my expectations by never having money on account, but invest them fast when I get them. It helped lower the expectations so im some places away from 1st in expectations, even though i by far have the strongest squad. I had even 100% in 3 fan measures

You’re still wrecking someone else’s expectations which in turn will bring down your own fan size anyway. You can’t isolate yourself from the others in your league. Short term you might have madly in love fans and gain small amounts but since everyone else is losing fans as a result you will eventually get sucked down into it as well.

It’s why the expectations feature completely broke the game, because those developing it tried to deal with it in isolation and completely forgot or didn’t care about the long term consequences and how other things are related (eg fan club size) is related to supporter mood and fans/gained lost was still designed around the old expectation system. So failing to adjust that now means bleeding fans worldwide not just individualised. Less fans brings down sponsorship and gate receipts. Less fans implicitly means you can’t get the fans back that you had.

It’s basically an implosion. Over time top teams get drawn back to weaker teams fan sizes, weaker teams start losing more fans and top teams then lose fans again.

It’s the opposite of how it use to be with gradually expanding over time as users played longer, it’s now just a straight up sink hole.

It’s pretty simple maths/logic even if you don’t know the exact formula they use. It’s why Achmid and others like myself have continuously complained about the inequity in sponsorship across nations because that’s all part of a single number which was flawed but is now broken.

I wouldn't say worldwide, it is fine for those nations with teams who have enough numbers so that leagues have roughly the same numbers from position 1-12. But there's only a few nations like that.

They needed to make the comparisons across the whole world, not your individual league, otherwise teams in small nations, can have $20M and be losing fans due to expectations, but in large nations, can have $100M, but because everyone around them has $150M, they actually get further ahead.

And yeah, adaca is doing the right thing in trying to minimise the damage this system has created (which is smart), as you say, regardless of what he does, if there is big difference in fanclub sizes across the league, the numbers will still gradually implode, his implosion will just be slower due to some tactical nouse

Will be worldwide though because all of the top teams now can’t hit madly in love expectations and so will trend downwards. More noticeable in those with wider gaps but will still happen in bigger nations as well.

Well they always Said they wanted to bring Down spectators..... -.- alledgly to be able to make an international tournamant for all without adding extra money from spectators... but its like they fleed the ship

I stopped looking at my fan numbers once new system kicked in (until recently getting a nudge).
It was becoming too depressing to see numbers sliding.

They just didn’t think to change the weight for fans gained/lost per week to realign with the new weighted fan expectation based on finishing positions. Now they won’t gain fans no matter how well they perform (since the weighting point used previously is now the top end under the current system (good luck getting to delighted even). It’s just short sighted testing by a bunch of amateur devs who have no idea what they’re doing. You can’t isolate off a piece of work from all its dependant functions and change one and expect the rest to behave as normal. You have to fix everything that’s interconnected together but they didn’t. For the same reason they didn’t adjust for the inflation caused by extra matches a week when they introduced that (they made adjustments later on but not initially). Also how they updated some pages and not other and so we lost links to certain places for a while unless we knew the old link etc.
