Asunto: Sponsorship

2023-04-02 04:23:25
If a trial merge were to happen, it would need to have a decent number of active teams at the end of it, aiming for 100-200 managers as the trial (more if not a trial).

Either way, the coding behind it all is what isn't in game yet. They could very easily just create a new country and move everyone there, but that isn't what anyone wants because it would kill the national cup and the national teams of those in the merge as well as remove so many NTs that mid range NTs would suddenly be on the bottom and complaining because they have never had to deal with not being in a comfortable position.

I’d like to see a starting sponsorship that’s fairly aligned to squad wages & other expenses; then somehow minimalise impact as teams find their way to their appropriate tier.
Otherwise you risk some being dispersed to a division not befitting in first season, & paying the penalty with a poor sponsorship & supporter level (or opposite), that doesn’t match their squad level.
Difficult to envisage the devs doing this.
We want to encourage managers to remain, rather than leave.

Another thought is to give managers an idea/warning of where they’re likely to be placed (in terms of levels), so they have time to prepare & work their squad to suit.

The sponsors paid into club`s account a total of 460 531 AU$.

Broke my previous best by a few hundred $

You're getting more than me!

Still a big drop from what was reported back in 2013 in the prime of Aus sokker (well just after the prime but before all the big managers teams were replaced by bots)

570 344 AU$. 2013-10-19 06:18:41 reported at that time

Still a long was short of Italy in 2020 (which was beyond their prime too
Div 1 - 582 714 AU$ to 654 426 AU$
Div 2 - 516 933 AU$ to 581 845 AU$
Div 3 - 411 730 AU$ to 514 565 AU$
Div 4 - 305 122 AU$ to 410 775 AU$
Div 5 - 174 896 AU$ to 274 224 AU$

Even though we know sponsorship leads to higher rating and not the other way around, given my rating compared to their average at the time, I would be sitting in Div 2 so should have actually been getting Mid 500's not mid 400's

My record sponsorship in my second season of Aus League II is $86,187....

I'll need a big warchest to even attempt to promote.
2023-05-02 05:28:25
It's a slow build mate. Be smart with your $$ and you'll get there... sadly the hardest thing you'll find won't be promotion, it'll be staying up once you get there!
2023-05-02 07:38:09
I'm relaxed - very happy to aim for 2nd in league II each year to get a reasonable pay day in the playoff while I build up fans and stadium to be able to afford more and train up some youths
2023-05-02 09:52:17
Not sure what’s better but it mightn’t be a bad idea to promote and relegate for a while to get the extra sponsorship in the higher division every 2nd season. Flip side is you take a bit of a hit when you relegate down (you’ll earn a bit less then you are atm) but I think the difference in what you’d get in top league vs div2 might be better money maximisation? In any case yeah it will take a few seasons to get anywhere. Be financially responsible and continue to train 10 players each week in advanced training so that you can get another revenue stream going.
2023-05-02 10:26:17
Yeah I thought that too. The $ disparity between the two leagues probably means it’s better to yo-yo than to camp.
2023-05-02 13:20:09
The teams at the bottom of the top league have 60000 stadiums and a wage bill that is 10 times as big as mine. If I took on wages to compete with them when they relegate at this point I would be bankrupt by week 2.

I either wait until I can support those higher wages through increased fans, higher crowds and a bigger stadium or until I have a war-chest of cash from sales or whatever that I can make an attempt to promote even if I can't afford it.

I'm fine with that.

If not already working on it.....I suggest Youth School development & a decent youth coach. Start with 10-12 slots before building from there....try to keep 4-6 slots free before each Saturday update. Once free slots become less, add a couple as you build.
A couple of half decent youths for sale can give you nice boost in finances....or something to build a team around long term if you have the senior coaching staff.
Also, don't get lured into stadium development until ready & cautious approach with increases is best. Build your sides & ends before corners.

To be honest you have to be lucky to break even from youth school, it's fun but it's not a way to improve the finances. I did the math in my case and it turns out that for last 2 years [real life] I made around 8.3m zloty [before taxes] while me expenses were over 38m zloty, so I'm around -30m zloty in 2 years [-7.5m euro].

Of course you can be lucky and get a youth worth 20m euro, some people are.

But the only reliable way to improving finances is investing in 16-18yo players, training them and then selling for (much) more than you paid.
2023-05-04 00:17:32
It's hard to quantify the cost v benefit unless you sell all your youths. Otherwise how do you put a dollar benefit against a youth you retain and train up into a first team player who plays 150 league matches, and then you sell him for a small amount of cash at the end of his career.
2023-05-04 00:30:34
Well you can always +/- guess the value when youth comes out from YS. Anyway I sold all during those 2 years mentioned, except for two - one is an average GK [18yo, 12 goalkeeper, 7 pace, 3 passing], second one is decent [21yo, 15 pace, 10 tech, 7 striker] - second one turned to be uber talented, when he came out he was bang average, I just had free spots in my team so I kept him. Still not a world beater, but worth keeping as he will keep on gaining value.

Don't get me wrong, I like YS, has it since I could afford it, kept unearthly coach since 15 years, especially in small countries it's very important as many people as possible have them, but I wouldn't advertise it as a way to stabilise the finances, on the contrary - you can open it when your finances are stable.
