That bit of the family arrived in France in 1914...
I wouldnt be surprised if the french authority at the time chopped a bit of the end of the name or swap the y for an i... it's a common practice of them

kozzee-OSko is the 'normal' Australian method, with the stress on the 3rd syllable :P
