Significant information
Slovenija have an unofficial tournament victory in the Mini World Cup where they showed they have the potential to perform well against the middle ranked sides. They went through the entire tournament with only one loss and that was the opening match against South Africa. They took out some major competitors in Osterreich (Austria), Srbija (Serbia), Turkiye (Turkey) and defeated Uruguay in the final. They then followed up with a 2-1 victory against Ireland, who despite seemingly having the better chances were unable to overcome Slovenija. All this was done and should send out warning bells to ourselves, who have actually lost to Ireland not so long ago. Slovenija have had really close games for most of the season with the exceptions of the win against Indonesia and the loss against Espana (Spain), although that was in an U21 game. They narrowly lost to Scotland 3-2 last week in another U21 game and show they are capable of performing well against the higher ranked nations. I am unsure what the format is at this stage but I will edit this when I confirm but I hope to have a 1st XI game, as we haven't had any chance of redemption since the world cup exit. The past performances have included:
(L) Scotland
(L) Espana
(D) Turkiye
(W) Indonesia
(L) Ireland
Once again we showed we lack consistency with a hard fought draw against Hellas who few predicted would challenge us as much as they did. A few tactical flaws, allowed them to capitalise and cut out a large proportion of our chances and then scored a goal on the break. Fortunately, Thompson had other ideas and sent a brilliant pass through the defensive line for Mitchell to put away for a hard worked draw. Perhaps the fact that we have been playing U21's and U20's has resulted in some of the inconsistency in conjunction with some tactical mistakes, as the players are still developing and so I hope with a 1st XI game we are able to redeem ourselves. Howarth looks out, but on the flip side we have a few players improving in form. The format could change, but I'm really after a first XI game as a change up from the past few weeks. The major concerns will lie in our striker positioning and our defensive positioning. They have been probably the most concerning across this season and will be worked on this week. Finally I will like to say I won't be around to watch the match but I will be supporting the team whilst I'm gone and will be back on the Monday to see how we went. Our past 5 results have been up and down:
(D) Hellas
(W) Shqiperia
(L) Bulgaria
(W) Malaysia
(L) Sverige

Define "Back pass"
Are we talking about:
1) Passes from the midfield/strikers back to the defenders/keeper
2) Any pass backwards in the defensive half?
3) Any pass backwards at all?

To clarify back pass I'm referring to your 1st point, where defenders/midfielders/strikers pass back to the defenders/keeper.
So on the wing passing back to another midfielder won't officially count on this, unless it travels past them back to the defenders.
Hope that clears things up.
Thanks for asking, as it was something I hadn't thought about at the time.
