Yeah, there's a lot better than what I've got I'm aware. When you've got 10x or more users it's got to be expected :p.

If so my boy here isn't too far behind as a striker, he doesn't have the secondaries to be a mid though.

Hayden Drum, age 17
value: 136 000 AU$
wage: 2 080 AU$
hopeless form

weak stamina hopeless keeper
excellent pace unsatisfactory defender
good technique tragic playmaker
poor passing very good striker
2008-08-22 08:24:22
You could sell Drum for at least 5 million, if you get his technique up, and get a random pop in striker, (and fix his form).

Also, tag him with a big "Future NT player!" and that'll add a bit more value.

He's not going anywhere yet. I changed my entire training schedule for him, was pulled approx 8 weeks ago.

He will get tech for the rest of this season, pace, striker then tech again.

If you're basing your entire training scheme around him, I assume you're going to train him till he's an established player - you should consider taking advantage of his age, and train pace till brilliant-magical (1.5-2 seaaons), then follow suit with technique 2-3 seasons), then striker.

You'll probably have a 24yr old with 3 x brilliant.

I actually prefer training pace to a playable level (whatever that is for your div), then other primaries and then training pace to high levels last. Its easier to justify training pace on a 24-25-26yo, whereas its quite hard to justify training tech or worse striker on a player that old.
2008-08-22 16:27:33
:O he's as good as my 18 year old trainee....

i'm hoping my 16yo will at least be as good as he is at this stage of next season

Also, with pace when they're older you can afford to give up 1 slot to train an older player, since you can train 22 players with pace each week, where as tech and other things you'd need to sacrifice a spot for them. Once again I agree with you in that I genuinely get it to a reasonable level then work on the other stuff and come back later to finish it off :). Striker is probably the most painful (other than keeper) to train given you can only train 6 if and only if you play 3 strikers each game. Glad I'll be finished the round of striker training come round 5-6 next season :).
2008-08-22 17:21:15
Yep, with youth pulls you end up training pace periodically anyway, so train the other skills at any opportunity!
2008-08-22 18:44:26
i'm hoping to finish the season of striker training with my striker trainees at at least excellent+ striking
2008-08-23 03:35:54
For me, I find that pace is such a difficult decision. With new players coming through, I now tend to look for young trainees with ~excellent pace, to avoid back-training. Half my team needs a few levels of pace... for the rest, it's useless.

Striker isn't too bad, I hope to train that soon, and you just need to find 6 good trainees.
