Asunto: Youth players

2010-01-14 08:41:29
What a monster...havent seen anyong that good since Carl Lawton!
2010-01-14 08:44:26
haha why is it a shame, you don't want your divine juniors coming out as keepers ever, because they'll lose skills to other areas and be a bit of a waste of such a rare player.

That player is just about perfect to be made into anything :).

You want your excellent/formidable players coming out keepers, well again that depends on whether its a gun talent or not.
2010-01-14 08:44:57
Carl Lawton's a pushover :p.
2010-01-14 09:16:14
I take DS told you that... :p
2010-01-14 09:43:14

Lozanovski is gold. He is the best defender, midfielder and attacker in U18 Oz by 10 - 20%. He ain't that bad a keeper. He is still the 10th best 18yr old keeper in Oz! I'm surprised he isn't good enough to get Krayzee back into the game.

What price do you reckon he'll go for? Can anyone in Oz afford him?

I can't remember what Lawton came out with, but surely he wasn't as good as this dude.

I reckon youth talent can still be estimated pretty accurately. Looked at a few different methods and I need more time to practice one method a bit more (that also means checking up a few statistical rules to make sure I can actually apply them to this situation). Gut feeling though it's probably still an ok method. So yeah, it will probably backfire but it's worth a shot because we can't exactly do much worse than currently ;).

Anyway 3 juniors coming up now :).

Lawton was incredible so never had sum skills of a divine in the first place...

As for estimating youth talent, just graph it in excel and get the equation, it's fairly straightforward. The Rsquare will tell you how accurate it is.
simple enough :)

you can get it much closer than that :p. Well not a lot closer, but a fraction more accurate. Useful as an estimation though.

Pulled as a solid. Looks to me like could be a talent of 4. Talent = 6-7-8-7-7-8-8

Dean Gilmore, age 17 , sum(23)
value: 56 000 AU$
wage: 1 120 AU$
very good (9) form

poor (3) stamina hopeless (1) keeper
adequate (6) pace good (7) defender
unsatisfactory (2) technique hopeless (1) playmaker
hopeless (1) passing unsatisfactory (2) striker

Any defense trainers out there looking for a new trainee?
2010-01-14 10:48:52
This new system really, really reduces the value of short term trainees in for less than 8 weeks. They won't get very good to win you junior games and their true talent is hard to predict :(
2010-01-14 10:56:40
to hard to call from that. Could easily be 7-7-7-7-7-8-8. That's the slightly frustrating thing about those with few weeks. It's almost more beneficial to get those with 30+ weeks then those with single digit weeks.
2010-01-14 23:07:52
No youths this week but hoping there's something to come out of this lot -

20yo very good outfield 1
19yo outstanding outfield 1
19yo solid GK 1
20yo very good outfield 2
18yo solid outfield 2
20yo formidable outfield 2
18yo solid outfield 3
16yo adequate outfield 3
19yo outstanding outfield 4

That is if my (magi) coach has it right!
2010-01-15 03:51:23
I've got the best part of $21M at the moment... Lozanovski looks interesting and could probably benefit from the tech/def this season and pace next season that I have planned.
2010-01-19 07:03:37
you can get it much closer than that :p. Well not a lot closer, but a fraction more accurate. Useful as an estimation though.

Do you want to develop that a bit further?
I can supply my version too...
