Subpage under development, new version coming soon!
Asunto: Youth players
you can get it much closer than that :p. Well not a lot closer, but a fraction more accurate. Useful as an estimation though.
Do you want to develop that a bit further?
I can supply my version too...

Well, I was thinking that if after performing least squares, you then should get the slope co-efficient. Then I think you should be able to work out a confidence interval for the slope-coefficient to say 95% level of confidence. Then you end up with a range from which essentially you can calculate how many weeks it takes to go up 1 level and work out a range for the talent.
Haven't actually tried yet but I'm pretty sure it could work. Only problem is you'd need to assume errors are normal because there isn't enough data points to assume normality. Another error is that observed values aren't going to be all accurate either due to this new system, so it's really only for a ball-park figure.

Yeah... that would be more accurate but would need some work.
I'll stick with my quick y=ax+b for the time being if you don't mind :)
I get talent as 1/a, b being the entry level and y the final skill level, x obviously being the week numbers. It's good enough to sort the good from the crap after a few weeks and I'm going to say something I could keep for myself but it does correlates pretty well with player's rating on the day... :)

Yeah that's where I start too, although I'm considering excluding that 1st data point until the Thursday update.

Depends on his talent, but 17yo solid(24) has a every chance of being good.
As far as the coach goes, only his overall level counts. (ie the level you can see under the coaches name on the training page)
