why would you sack him?

At the very worst list him for $2 at the right moment and somebody will buy him I would have thought. I've sold far worse.

Half a season of pace and technique and he's a very handy player, looking something like

average stamina
good pace
good technique
average passing and average playmaker (if not adequate).

Might not make top honours for the NT but still a useful trainee, particularly if you don't have truckloads of cash. (This all depends on whether he's reasonably talented though).

I would have sacked him! Sacked better today! The market isn't there for players like that anymore. You won't get back what you spend on saturday's wages

Pretty sure you'd get more than $960, would only require 2 bids. $2, $2k. Not my decision though :).

Realistically if making a return of $960 is that important to you anyway, this guy should never have got left in the youth school. That's where the killer is, 1.6k a week for as many weeks as he was there.

If he had average pace or tech, maybe. As it is, sack or sell... probably only $10k in it at most. That's chicken feed for uber.

You're right, he shouldn't have graduated. He came in with low skill and talent was only ~5.

Isn't 16k each better than nothing? They still sold for more than a weeks wage. Yes your player wouldn't have generated much but really surely you try and sell them before firing them after being pulled? Anyway, it's not my call and I'm not trying to argue I was merely surprised that you pressed the sack button so quickly.

Plus there's always a chance that he will get sold before turning 24 - 2nd income.

came in as good, 2 pops in 6 weeks. Could be a possible striker prospect if talented

nice pull. If he's got any sort of talent he'd make an excellent striker trainee. Would easily get to triple unearthly striker if trained and would net around the $10m mark when sold.
