Asunto: Youth players
Really? Wouldn't think so. Looks like I was wrong. Maybe it's all because I don't spend that much time on sk anymore as I used to and I'm loosing track of time or not noticing all the things :)
He is borderline, but very likely to get some games.
But I do partially agree with what you said before. There have not been any amazing, ground breaking ones for a little while. At least none good enough for the training of our favourite Vampyr haha

The ones that were pulled on the mentioned June 13 were awesome, I was really looking forward to getting them but major and oscar decided to train by themselves.
I'm full for now, 10/10 Ozers when it comes to slots. It getting a little harder with each week to plan their training but I'm trying to manage somehow, so that no one gets stuck or neglected at some point.

I just can’t buy a junior atm. Amount of weeks I have 6 places and get 1 or get 2-3 that are all tragic is beginning to seriously bug me. I really hope there’s no your average school is this level so you’re now getting crap type stuff happening and it’s just a random lucky draw.
I wish I could even get 6. I’m almost always getting 1 or 2, unless it’s the week before they age then I’ll get 6…
Doesn’t really matter if it’s 1/6 or 6/6 if all of them are useless
Real shame though, 6/6 and all of them 17yo except for one 16. And none of them are worth keeping.

I’ve got a 21yr old Magical coming in 2 weeks but apart from that the cupboard is quite bare.
I can’t recall a worse run than this current period.
Have 20/30 in school and only getting 2-3 most weeks, so no problem having 6 places ready….whilst usually culling them straight way.
TBH it could be less than the 20 as 2-3 likely to be cut Thursday if they don’t pop, to go with whatever dross lands as well.
1 formidable (not young), 2 excellent - all due next 5 weeks…only 1 v good outside that.
Much the same in that 16-17 yo’s of any quality & weeks are a distant memory.
Keeping the faith there’s some decent youths heading our way at some point?!
;(

I think there is probably some changes in thought process as well compared to the 16week season.
At 16 weeks, they had a good balance of age vs level, but now age trumps level quite a bit. So rather than aiming for high level, a low level but helpful distribution 16-17yo is much better than a Magical 20-21yo.
And this obviously affects everything in between too.

This is part of the reason I like people to post in the youth thread before firing, because the standard of junior is different, and I can give a pretty clear indication of where they stand based on how I organise the database.
There's been a few surprises where people wanted to trash, but turns out they are like #3 in their position

I don’t think the 13 week season has changed it that much. Was always the case a reasonable 16yo would be preferred over a magical 20yo but I do agree with your general comment otherwise. Crampton for example was a 16yo solid pull, Greenwood was also a 16yo pull and both those were before the 13 week season mostly. Greenwood has been impacted by the 13 week season a bit more though through training.
The reason why magical 20-21yos aren’t preferred is because they get skill capped at excellent and so skills go elsewhere. If this was changed such that higher levels can break past excellent then you could restore balance somewhat. Or allow more skill points on magicals to avoid being swamped by trainign a 16yo then you can balance this. It’s doable, they just won’t do it due to the mathematics involved in designing a good solution and the fact they don’t want a lot of top players in the game at any one time.

There’s more problems to that
Yes, skill limit is one thing, but unlocking it would also create problems, like players coming out with incredible striker and playmaker.
Another problem is that a 16yo will simply improve more in 3 seasons than the youth in YS and will have a higher (and optimal distribution of) sumskill

Btw I don’t know when I last had even a brilliant youth. Must have been 2-3 years at least. Never had an unearthly in 19 years of playing, magical only two or three as well.
Currently my YS is in worst condition ever, I have zero interesting prospects, 11/30 spots and I could easily trim down to 3 or 4, I keep the rest just for youth league…

Borkos is right, age has always been more important. Before if a player age 16 week 1 was Max time in school he would finish start 18... now its midway 18.... so thats the limit at first for the Math.
My ys had:
19 yo: 1 uneartly, 2-3 magical, several brillant
18: 2 magical, some brillant and Incredible
But My best junior was a Incredible 17 yo week 10, cause he nothing wasted on stamina, striker or gk and perfect talent... he was the Best danish def mid ever in old system
