Awesome. Planning on visiting Asia again next year.
Have fun!

I thought he'd go for more. Shame I don't have a training spot for him.
Listed my 3 guys. Pavlich being the best. I think achmid said we have a few 17yo strikers, so not sure where he sits in the pecking order.

I had the training slot if required for Livermore but for unknown talent I’m not paying 6m. It’s a stupid system that someone like that sells for more then what he will at say 27-28 fully trained up. They could stop this rubbish by attaching some part of the last transfer price to the wage and that will make them expensive to sit and play friendlies only. At least then if people blow money there are some consequences for it.
19 mid sum could turn into a 10-14 m eu midfielder age 26-27 ... I think you underestimate that part ... but paying so much for unknown talent i agree is a lot
Without knowing talent that’s a very big assumption and a huge risk. Clear he’s been in the youth school a very short time so talent probably isn’t known.
In any case I doubt that’s what the buyer got him for. He will be on the transfer list again in a season or two based on history of that user, who also happens to be able to sell at inflated prices regularly. Yet another reason to impose some form of penalty for endless bidding or inflated sales. The added cost to wage would be sufficient as that cuts the demand down for paying whatever it takes. I remember when these kind of players sold for peanuts.

I am not convinced about 14m euro. 14m aud maybe but that’s a stretch and requires a lot to go right.
Our best midfielder recently sold for like 15m aud (not euro) and that’s with 4x unearthly and 1x incred (may have been brilliant). Can’t see Livermore as a mid getting anywhere near there. I actually see Livermore as a defender more and defs sell for less than mids do.
Even one of my own 17yo pulls with 3.9 talent approximately is now 25 and still hasn’t got to that mark yet and had way better distribution then Livermore. Had 31 midfield points 6,8,8,6,3 at the time of pull (pc,tech, pass, def,pm). Have a feeling that was an early 17yo too but even if it’s not, in 13 weeks I’d be surprised if livermore made up 12 midfield points there. If he does then that’s great for us obviously as it means he’s talented enough.
I’ll happily be proven wrong but I can’t see Livermore getting to be worth what you mentioned and think you’re overestimating significantly. Unless there are two markets, one for Europe and another for us here which wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest looking at some clubs transfer details of players we’d be lucky to get a bite here.

Def mid sum 19 age 16 this time of season with Max talent could get somewhere up in that region yes. Also that player was sold age 29. Im talking about price age 26-27
But we agree big time the price right now was too high for a lottery ticket
I highly doubt that Livermore is max talent but let’s see what plays out. The probability of that would be incredibly low to combine that with age and skill distribution that’s several layers of rng there. Always possible true but I wouldn’t be banking on it. Has probably more chance as having talent 5/6 as max talent and one should factor that in. My guess is somewhere in between but we just don’t know without the junior school data (even then it would only be a rough estimate if they hadn’t been there long).
Also yeah ok Sutton was just 29 when sold but I can’t see Livermore matching that at 26 anyway in order to get those kinds of $. I’ll keep a watch on him obviously though.
I realise we agree on price being a bit high but I’m just doubtful Livermore will sell for a lot more than say 10-12m aud which is most of the profit potential gone from paying $6m aud up front.
It’s the market we deal with obviously and the bidder has done nothing wrong, I just feel the weight of value is wrong when it comes to prices. Trainees are overpaid based on what potential they have in 10 seasons (not what they have now) and so the price tends to match that expectation. Meanwhile established players that still have a good 4 seasons minimum are treated as if they’ve fallen off a cliff already.
It should be the other way (or at least closer to parity) so you are rewarded for training longer as opposed to buy at 16 sell at 20 type stuff.
Despite all this, it’s great that the money went to an Australian user. That I’m pleased for as more competition will increase all of our revenues for the whole league, so on that basis it’s a great result.

Yeah regarding talent i also said several times its a lotteri ticket :)
At least with lotteries the more you spend the increased probability of winning something goes up. From nothing to next to nothing :p. Here money spent makes little difference to the odds :p
