fantum para achmid
I might do same with Querro, being 19yo…if talent is decent, will see about training…although he’s probably down the pecking order.
Swap the PM for Def & I’d be much happier.

I think you'd get a few dollars on the open market for Austin Giogi if you don't train yourself

There's this guy listed. Anyone interested in getting him? Don't want him to go to a random team, so if there's noone taking him on, I'll probably try to do so.

I’m watching him as I’m interested but I’m not going to blow my budget on them. Just see where the price gets too.

How much do you like money?
How much do you like training players from your own school?

Which of those do you prefer more?

There’s your answer.

What I will say is that player looks like they will sell for quite a bit judging by stuff I’ve seen on the TL. I’ll work it out later what the average transfer price for that is. It’s possible selling would accelerate your team development if spent wisely.

I’d be interested in picking him up anyway if you did decide to sell. Fits what im training currently anyway.

All hypothetical here but if you did sell you may be able to buy multiple trainees as a replacement albeit not 16. They’d likely have to be 18 but would accelerate your longer term development.

Alternatively you could sell and purchase a bunch of 30+s cheaply to improve your team quicker to be more competitive in the A League and hence earn more money from getting results. Not sure I’d advocate this one but it’s an option.

Finally there’s the option of keeping them and training them. You could do a few things here.

1) train them the whole career (you’d lose $ here but you’d get it back somewhat by not having to buy a replacement and the satisfaction of training your own player)
2) train them in tech and look at selling when they’re like 10/10/10 or balanced between all 3 skills. They’d still be young enough to attract big bids too.

The decision use to be an easy one - keep and train.
The decision now is a lot greyer as prices are absolutely ridiculous at the moment for any semi decent 16yo. You may get more money now than training for 10 seasons.

That’s why I floated the first questions. If you have a personal attachment to train your own players then train him. If you don’t care then you have the possibility to split a great youth for more but not as great trainees or keep the money

Oh wow! When it comes to 16yo's, it's always hard/almost impossible to evaluate the talent. The one here is somewhere between vg/excellent, so with shorter seasons, it puts him really high in the standings.
As cometer said, the decision is up to you but if I may put in my 2 cents here, would recommend selling. With the money you get for him, you can bring your team to a whole new level.
Anyway, if you decide to sell I will pay a shitload of money. Don't know the current prices but I think he's worth no less than 15-20M AU$.

Yeah I made sure to include all options.

It’s crazy that there’s even a thought in this decision but with the market the way it is I’d be very tempted to sell him. I’d have been a little more conservative at around 10M re to er than the 15-20M but it only takes 2 fools who know nothing about money but have loads of it to enter a bidding war and that price could land anywhere.

I have no doubt he will sell for more now then if you trained him and sold him in 10 seasons. The question I have is of training him to vg tech suddenly inflated your price more even though he will be 17 by then.

15-20M I’d be selling.
5-10M I’d be on the fence
Less than 5M and I’d be keeping to train.

The problem is you’re also unlikely to ever get this again so you will lose the fun of seeing where he will get to.
