OMG... are you saying talent in YS has absolutely NO correlation to talent in the main team?
I don't know what to say... quick, find me some cheap 12 week YS-talents quick!!!

I don't say anything.
I know no-one that can say what kind of correlation there is between YS talent and main team talent.
I'm only trying to understand the dynamics of the junior. but maybe you can teach me something. :)

my understanding is that youth squad talent directly relates to first team talent...talent doesnt change only the coach and skills directly affected change...which in turn changes the quickness of pops. so if a junior pops from good to solid in 5 weeks in youth team id expect him to do the same in a trained skill. However it might be slightly quicker if the youth coach general appraisal is lower than main coaches skills

When in doubt, go to the rules.
Talent
Hidden ability of the player to enhance his skills. Determines the efficiency of training for both a first team player and a junior training in the sub junior school.
I interpret that to mean a player is given a value for talent as soon as he joins the JS, then keeps that value for his entire career. That's why we pay attention to how often our juniors pop. :)

so if I've well understood, you are saying that if my general appraisal's coach is for example outstanding and my main coach is unearthly in playmaking, my trainee could pop in PM quicker than when he was a YS trainee... is it correct?
or are you only comparing the general appraisals?

yeh thats correct as far as i know but you gotta keep in mind the youths level in the juniors compared to his level of playmaking when he comes out...he might come out a solid youth but have hopeless pm that way he would be more inclined to pop quicker in pm :)

nice. but in your opinion, is it possible to have an higher talent as player than as junior?

Talent and the JS coach's general appraisal are the only two factors which affect how fast a player pops in the JS. However, talent, coach's trained skill ability, age, the level of the skill being trained and how fast that skill pops relative to the others are all factors in how fast a player pops in the senior team.
- 16yo pops faster than 26yo with the same skills and talent,
- if your coach is unearthly PM then your players will train PM faster than if your coach was good PM,
- stamina pops faster than PM etc,
- a player with hopeless PM will train faster than the same player with formidable PM,
Similarly and very importantly:
- a player of the same age and skills will pop significantly faster if he has good talent.
It's hard to tell a player's talent when they're in your senior team. That's why it's so important to monitor the pops in your JS... because there are only two factors, it's much easier to determine the talent of the player.

There's got to be a joke in there somewhere. Weeener's first pull. At least you didn't call it a 'dry spell' last season. ;)
