Asunto: Ranking by points

I remember being the worst ranked in A-League by quite a margin last time it was updated.

Yeah mainly due to not winning enough, whereas by dropping down you're suddenly taking sides to the cleaners each week and having an incredibly impressive season.

That might explain it as well, my biggest winning margin is 2 goals... and that happened once.

Im still the top club created in 2007 by points :)

I'm still the bottom club in Div II and increasing the gap. Now almost 300 points behind the next lowest in my League

Ratings and rankings should mean nothing to you at this stage. Focus on long-term success, developing your squad. A manager who buys a bunch of old hasbeens will get a great ranking but then they will plateau for the next two seasons, whereas if you invest wisely, you shouldn't see the results for a season or two, then you'll go gangbusters!

Focus on doing the minimum you need to do to promote so you can play more young trainees... they will grow your club fastest in the long run.

I am getting promoted definitely. A draw from freekazilla confirmed it today. Do I use this chart to determine whether I am in the top 25% of my division or not?

By the way, if everyone stopped out bidding me in the transfer market, then I would have replaced all of my "hasbeens." Although my 18 year old striker who I bought for 50K has now scored 13 goals in 10 games. I don't know much about training, so I can't really develop my players. I've bidded on some coaches which for once I hope I win the bidding on. They are pretty bad coaches except they are still formiddable in one skill, and the rest they are crap in.

no. Promotion works in the following way:

At the end of the season, all teams that won their league get put together in a list in order of the side who has the most points for the season (not ranking points, but league competition points), then if there is a tie, it goes to goal difference, then goals for, then position last season (if they are required).

Then all the teams finished 5-8th go into another list, based on the same calculation as the other list.

Then basically the pairings are that top of the first list plays bottom of the second list etc, but the top 25% of the first list replace the teams at the bottom.

The rules explain it a little easier I think, so check them :).

Now I'm coming 7th! Wow. Like your talking to someone who's best achievement in life was to win a lolly sucking competition! I also came second in a talent quest in grade 4, for my comedy act! So this is now my best achievement in life! Cometer, is there a place where I can see this list for div 4?

Not currently, but you can work it out manually, although it takes a bit of time.
