Minkee, I think you should just leave it now, its not going to happen and the way it works now is just fine..

The flaw to your argument is you expect that going higher in divisions will get you more money. This is only true if you do well.

Now if you lose to a team that came 5th or below (obviously not doing well) then if you were to take their place anyway, you would get beaten by more and actually end up with LESS money.

Although I managed to stay in A-League, by mid season, I was getting less money then I was in II.01. Not to mention how much my supporters have been affected (instead of going up 12 each week, I have had a net loss over the season of about 3 sups per round) thats an average of 15 supporters lost per week which affects me big time come end of season bonuses 210*200=42k for this season, and every season in the future

Atm, it is fine the way it is. There is guarranteed change (with the bottom team relegated) and the remaining best teams of the lower division face the worse teams of the higher divisions to see who deserves to be in the higher division.

If you deserve to be in a higher division, you have to prove it. If a League III team is weaker than a League II team, then obviously the League III team does not deserve to be in Division II, regardless of how they performed in their League.

Why should teams be guarranteed auto-promotion if they are truly worse than their higher League counterparts who they *would* be replacing?

Achmid> I disagree to an extent, going from III to II actually gets an increase in the amount of sponsor money, even if you come near the bottom. Top is III is only up to 120k, while the bottom in II is ~130k.

The supporters is more of an issue though, since you have to be in the top few supporter moods to gain a decent number of supporters.

Im not sure if a team that comes 7th will be saying the same thing, especially if thye get slaughtered.

this is a forum! people discuss and voice their opinion... I'm not arguing I'm trying to get people to understand my point and I am not trying to get everybody to agree with me, far from this!

I'm not a fan of play-off game, I always found it ridiculous even in real life that's all...

I am pretty sure the sponser money overlaps between the high end of the lower leagues and the low end of the higher leagues.
i.e. teams doing really well in a lower league will get more than a team doing really badly in a higher league.

You might want to dig up the old 'Sponership' thread. In there, im pretty sure some teams were proving it overlapped.

As long as my moneys keep going up im happy :) I have only had a drop once and by only a few hundred bucks...up to 118,000 now, which covers all wages and stadium expenses...junior school is supported purely by match fees which is a bit of a worry :O

Well, Cumlionibus really should have been promoted earlier, and Teen Girl Squad should have been demoted earlier. Those are actually close to the absolute extremes...

Anyway, I think we're getting more sponsor money in general anyway, we have lots of II teams breaking the 200k barrier, and FCM Tigers breaking 300k!

yeh now we are, but those stats were overlapping over about 2 sesons (I think)

118k? the champion of the league getting 118k? hey, i just only managed to get 2nd in my league, and im currently getting 125k... which just covers my wages...
stadium and junior school doesnt cost that much yet, but since im about to expand them next season, might take a chunk outta the bank account... i want my attendance income (had away games for past 3 weeks) :(

Depends on the standard of the league too.

atleast it will give you an idea of what to expect in div 2.

they were about a mid range team in one of the harder leagues of div 2 so if you can knock them off consistantly, you are probably ready for div 2

Too right, they're a quality bunch of players, but the team is without a rudder so you should be able to overcome them. Will be a good benchmark for you.
