Asunto: Australia Cup

Not sure if anyone noticed the Cup start tonight.

There weren't many upsets and a lot of comfortable wins. There probably wont be too much action for a couple of week, just an opportunity to get players carded and injured.

My game ended in a 6:0 comfortable win. The scoreline doesn't really reflect the dominance displayed on field. 60% possession, 70% play in half, 28 shots to 1... but on stopping that ONE SHOT my #1 goalie sustained what will be a very long 25 day injury. I certainly leaves my team with the dilemma of sorting out how to replace him temporarily.

What are people's thoughts and goals for this season's Australia Cup?

Not a lot of action?!?!?

For sure training will take advantage over winning the cup, like last season, won the cup once and am really more focussed on training players and trying to win the A League again.

I won 7 - 0 today without a few key players, as to not wanting them to possibly miss the opening match day.

I'm going to lose my first couple of league games anyway, so I'll try to get as far as possible in the cup ;)

Just train stamina. Everyone gets training :). You still play your best team in both league and cup.

comfortable 11-0 win. Doubt I will compromise training this season as I need my reserve strikers to start closing the gap on the starters.

won 1-0... first time i go pass the first round so I'm reasonnably chuffed with the result...

7-0 not complaining about that, However i am complaining about the 13 day injury to King :@ why the hell did i play him as my CM??!!

1-3 win. Not bad. A little dissapointed though that I lost one of my best strikers in the 89th minute!!!! Oh well. I've got a backup, but because of that backup I lose training again this week. :(

I can't believe it!
I was versing a division 3 team. I'm in division 4. And, as a pre-match ritual, I didn't see the scoreline. I'm watching the game and I'm getting my butt kicked, but it's still 0-0. In the first half, on of my strikers get's red carded, after injuring one of their players. But it's still 0-0. My striker who is left on the pitch is Sekulovski. Then watch Sekulovski play himself into space. But he's too slow. He keeps missing the shot! It got to about the 65' minute mark. It was still 0-0. I was hoping that my goalkeeper wouldn't have to go through a penalty shout-out, because Murphy sucks at taking penalties.
But then, my star defender fouls inside the box! Landers! The penalty was scored, and finally my opponent was 1 up. That was the final scoreline! 1-0! What could have been! I had my sub-keeper ready for the penalty shootout. But no! I lost to a computer player! That's rigged!

is it completely random who you get to play in the cup? I dont want to play someone crazy and get smashed 21-0 :P

another question: is there some rule as to who plays at home the weaker team perhaps? cus it seems most times the away one smashes it
