despite my inexperience, i'll try and give out a few pointers.
you are pretty open in the middle, a decent striker with some pace and tech can easily tear through that hole and get 1-on-1's
sokker does not favour having wingbacks. from what i've seen from the A-league and NT tactics, its either 3 or 4 dedicated defenders.
the use of a DM to plug up the centre hole in your defence if using a 4 man defence is a good idea. never underestimate the worth of a good DM.
that's about all i can offer. let's wait and see what the big boys have to offer. and oh, if they contradict me, listen to them :P

Best way is to have a few different tactics to catch opposition teams off guard. Failing that, as a start I would strongly suggest you look at having a much tighter defense. For examples of tight defenses, I'd be looking at how some of the higher teams set their defense, so teams in A League and Div 2 are probably strong starting points.
Also when making a tactic, be wary when you move them around for each position that you don't open yourself up for fast counter breaks, by having players running too far relative to how far the ball has moved, and also trying to limit the opposition's possible movements by not having massive gaps in the centre for example.
Also, keep in mind what other teams are likely to do and if they are really predictable, it might be an idea to build a tactic which counters that, but at the same time make sure it suits what your players are capable of. There is no point in playing 5 defenders for example if you have only 3 worthy defenders.

what i mean is that i save the new tactic and its fine and when i go and put it as my starting tactic it moves all the players around to places like another tactic!!
did you select the right tactic in your orders?
The position of the players you see in the Match Orders screen is the their "average" position in your chosen tactic.
so it doesnt matter they'll still react to the tactic i've set during the match?
Yes, if you've gone through repositioning players for every different "tile". Have you moved the pong to all tiles?
tiles? sorry i no ive been playing for so long ive just never asked anyone for help
Right, first off here is how you get to your tactics page:
On the right you will see a bunch of buttons lined up vertically (in a column)
Click the one in the middle, that looks like a cone.
This takes you to the training session page where your coaches are listed.
At the top right (inside the header) of the page there is a link that says tactics.
Now you should be at the tactics editor.
There are a number of default tactics:
Normal 352 343 424 433
442 451 523 532 541
Attack Defend Sweep
You are allowed to create 5 additional ones for yourself.
To do this, choose the default tactic you want to base your new one on, choose the name of this new tactic and then click create.
Your new tactic will appear below the default tactics, and to the left of the green sokker pitch.
If you don't edit it it will be the same as the default tactic you based it on....so time to edit it.
EDITING your tactic.
On the green sokker pitch you should see a white ball and 10 icons representing your outfield players.
There are 35 positions for the ball to be in. For each position you can set where each of your players are positioned.
Every time you move the white ball the player positions are saved, but when you are finished setting all 35 positions click save on the bottom right of the pitch else the tactic changes will not be saved for next time.
When setting players positions try to make sure players don't have to move too far from one adjacent ball position to another otherwise they will get tired, and generally not do what you want them to in a game.
Right, you should now have your tactic set the way you want.
To use your new tactics in a match click on the match icon (4th button down in the column of buttons to your right)
This takes you to your matches page.
League games are on your left, friendlies and cup games are on your right.
To set match orders for a match that is yet to be played click on "match orders" underneath that match.
This takes you to the match setup page.
You can see which formation is selected on the left at the bottom of the green pitch.
You can also see which players you have selected for the various positions.
11 first team players.
1 is always the keeper, the others can be changed.
You can see which subs have been selected, which players have been chosen to take your set pieces, and any conditional orders which have been set.
To change the player positions go to "squad", the middle link in the header at the top.
Now you can place individual players in specific positions, including subs.
Once you are happy with your players and positioning press save and that lineup should now be saved.
Thats about it.
The orders link lets you choose the free kick and penalty taker and also lets you set conditional orders (a little complicated, something to do when you have figured out the basics)
To double check your orders have been saved, navigate away from the game setup page, and go back in.
Check your squad, and also which tactics have been chosen.
