Asunto: Where Are They Now?

Well I was looking back through the youth players thread the other day to see what Zdrilic and North used to be like only to find that I couldn't help myself. After reminiscing on some of the past youth pulls I figured I'd start a definitive collection of the players. The aim of this thread is to list what the player was like when they were posted in the youth players thread and then write a few words on where they are now. It's also interesting to look at what each manager said about them at the time and just to see if they've lived up to their hype or not.

I've only included players who have either played in the national team or are current regulars for Australian club teams or are very noteworthy players. I haven't bothered to include players playing for team's overseas who no one really cares about. Any help would be appreciated of course and I hope you guys find this as interesting as I did!

Very happy with both results. As this past week I've been training defending because I have a 17 year old very good. So things are looking pretty good.

I keep getting unlucky with ages though. I think I'll pull the better player first next time as the 2nd player I pull always seems to be older.

I'm up to page 53 of the thread. I need to sort out almost all the player links as well and then I will start commenting on each player.

If anyone wishes to help please SK Mail me their completed work (e.g linked player id and any comments they have) and I will put it in. I'll get round to doing it myself anyway but help is very welcome. Just remember to only include player's who are 'noteworthy' (i.e regulars for an Australian club, player's who have played or play for the NT or other player's at interesting clubs or absolute freaks who have been overlooked for the NT [see Clint Deeley]).

I laughed when I read your comment on Bowyer because i knew he was now starting for you. Most interesting of all though for mine was that Howarth was only a solid youth pull who didn't look that good at all only to become Australia's best defender!

cant believe richters stats back then :D certainly come a long long way.

Richter and tiatto are still being trained and are first XI strikers. Tiatto will be sold later on this season and Gibson will take over.

You havent mentioned these 2 yet but you'll come across them - Storey is a freak and first XI striker, I think hes a very good chance to become an established NT striker in the not to distant future and Kearton is another very talented young striker whose coming along exceptionally :)

Overall the best playersmy youth squad has given me are some very nice trainees who i'll start reaping the rewards from financially in the not so distant future, the rest who i sold werent anything special from memory

Borkos definately knew about deeley. Apparently his marks are coming from all keeper and wasnt all round enough. Not sure cometer knows about him though. Baveas and Wilkinson were both in my starting squad but i have no idea what they were like back then.

A solid and reliable contributor but never garnered much attention with Kris Hirons and Marco Croxall taking most of the limelight. His 3+mill transfer to LV`s Real Madrid is to date a club record.

He's had mixed fortunes since he was transferred having a hattrick both before and after a 1 month injury. He's also had a career best mark of 48 with his new club.

because I only went searching for the stats of him 4-5 weeks ago and when I got them, it was really only single skilled, hence why I preferred Masi and D'Arcy. That's probably the best way of putting it.
