Asunto: The "give your team the hairdryer treatm

bah, i have no idea how i managed to draw at home on sunday... now i have to rely on FGR on dropping points before i have a realistic chance of finishing top

*plots revenge for next weeks match* humiliation at home is a dish best served with plenty of goals :D

EDIT: actually, i do know how they managed to draw... i need a better defense.....

This last league game was the least boring I've had so far... normally I cant convert any penalty kick and if I conceide a goal it's a 50yds scud these days (Beckham style)

I was playing a BOT this sunday so i decided to give my star striker a rest and give my new 18yo junior a chance to prove himself... 7' gone and he had to leave the pitch because of injury, a nice 13 days one as well!
anyway got a PK as a result and thought "been there, got the tee-shirt"... but for the 1st time ever it went in! joy...
went 2-0 up later and passed the half an hour mark I got a player sent-off! at that point I hoped we could hang on and keep the result... the boys did better than that, they scored 3 more goals, one of them being another PK!
result 4 goals for the sub striker and 1 for my new trainee...

You've got to love the game when it goes this way... I might hate it next week :)

I got the desired result in the end. Despite the ball hitting the woodwork no less than 8 times (twice when shooting into open goals.

oh bloody hell... 2 wingers out for next week's match, one for a straight red and another for his 3rd yellow... seems like its time for a new tactic...

EDIT: on a happier note, FGR just drew today, which means i have a chance of reaching the top on the final day if neither of us screws up along the way... winning the league by goal difference is pretty interesting... time to put the whip to my strikers and get them to their first double digit scoreline :P

I have to put the pressure on as well if I want to auto promote..and avoid last seasons dissapointment...neeed more goals!

rawr, stupid crossbar, woulda made 10-0 if it wasnt for the crossbar... *mutter* how can those stupid groundsmen forget to make the goal higher *mutter*

i absolutely cannot believe how many one on one chances the strikers missed today. they either shot at the keeper/post/bar/stands, anywhere but into the goal. also, i cannot believe how a striker would cut the ball back when there is a freaking empty net in front of him. someone needs shooting lessons....

- Considering I had all of my 3 attempts on goal within the first 11mn of the game... (yeah poor game!)
- Considering I scored one of them...
- Considered my freshly capped Oz GK saved me twice at the 88th minute
- and finally considering I won 1-0

I decided I am not gonna whinge this week...

with just 3 shots compared to snappa's 12, it's obvious who dominated the midfield.
and considering how close we were to scoring with all those 3 shots, i'd like to say we were somewhat unlucky.
saved a penalty but they scored right after a defender got slightly injured, where he failed to cover the scorer. seems fair though, given their striker was slightly injured too.
an encouraging display from my team, despite being dominated, especially player skills wise, managed to hold them off for an hour, and just a goal too at that. mids with def makes life hard for me :X

I cant watch the match but i managed a 2-2 draw for a first game in Div II with the other newly promoted Dragons United. Fairly pleased but I was hoping for a win as at this rate i;ll struggle to steal some points off the other teams in the league

It's going to be a long league for me... 2 draws against two of the bottom four teams.

Looks like I'm going backwards in terms of league placing. As long as I'm not last, I'll be happy :)

A new striker is definitely on the top of my "to-buy" list.

...and add to that the belting your Battrick team copped today ;)
