Asunto: The "give your team the hairdryer treatm

I think I've pulled one or two juniors this season...
I started being really selective, like nothing above 6 wks talent and coming out less than VG!
Below they dont sell for enough money to justify training imo...
so in my case the quickest way to make some $ was with the stadium :)

yeah except it takes around 1-2 seasons just to break even for spending on the stadium ;). No doubt though that in the long run a larger stadium is beneficial so long as you're selling out regularly.

You'll need more than 30k though. I'm regularly selling out home games against the top 4 in div2.
Not much more though. Too many seats and it gets expensive if you're not selling out.

Still, with the amount of money floating around, it's a good opportunity to get your stadium to an optimal size.

I'm aiming for a nice, symmetrical 36k capacity stadium - 12k seats, and 24k benches. IMO, waste of money putting seats anywhere but along the line. And no roofs, I'd rather lose the slight attendance on a rainy day, than spend the extra millions. I don't think a roof will ever pay itself off.

it will over time. You get more income from each seat and more attendance. Very expensive though. I was aiming for 42k I think, but I might have to re-evaluate given sides are now bringing in that.

i probably really should replace my terraces in those corners with benches... oh well, something to do for my next stadium upgrade, whenever that is...
2008-08-19 22:12:43
Over time indeed. I think the evaluated time was 10 seasons?

I guess everyone has his own opinion and I respect your approach... it's nice confronting opinions as I'm sure it helps everybody in the game having one especially the newcomers...

I'm playing catch up with the top lot so I'd rather be more aggressive with my spending...
In the long run, I dont want to miss on extra income, I dont see the point having money sitting in the bank doing nothing and since spending 700k on a player wouldnt make much difference to my team I'd rather spend in on the stadium and get a 30k increase in ticket income straight away... it might take 20 odd games to get the 700k back but it gives me 30k more to spend every two weeks... looking at my budget it's a huge increase!
a div3 team can do a lot with that money, I can upgrade to a brilliant coach or double the size of my juniors school for exemple...
until they give us interest on the money sitting in the bank I'm gonna spend it to expand my team as much as I can stretch it so I can have a good team capable of playing mid-table in DivII...

I guess I had the stroke of good luck I needed a few months back - I sold a guy for 4 million, even though he wasn't worth that much. No foul play, the admins/mods cleared that up, but I did make a healthy profit which kick started my team :)

Once you pass the barrier where you can afford 'good' trainees, you're always bound to make a very nice profit. Even more so when you advertise "NT material".

I'll put you in the same bax as sx, you both sold palyers for 4-5mil... that's a huge boost!
Man I'm dreaming of something like this! new coaches, new stand, 1 or 2 good players... mmm :)

my biggest sale in 6 seasons happened earlier this year and it was "only" 600k... I havent been lucky
enough to produce an NT spec juniors but I'm working on it...

pulling one of the best 19 year olds in the polish leagues IS a nice boost indeed :P

Can't remember but it was quite long from memory.

Hey, as long as your stadium looks good, that's all that matters. :p
2008-08-20 14:49:01
true.

I'm celebrating my second straight league title with a one of a kind opening goal at the 20'...

If the opposition wasnt a BOT I think I would be hearing birds name at the moment... :)
