Asunto: The "give your team the hairdryer treatm

I was a bit annoyed with my GK getting injured 2 times last year and once again this year but there's a topic running on the bug/idea forum where a guy had 6 GK injuries this year!
Reading it made me happy straight away!

He turned out all right, it seems :P

Though theoretically, he could have been better...

Haha, madness. Krayzee lose the title on a goal difference of ONE.
2008-09-07 08:34:23
did i make a calculation error. Probably did, but I thought krayzees won on account of more goals, that being goal difference was equal. I'll recount ;).

Left Real Galah with some thinking to do for next season, whilst I romped away to a 9 - 0 win to say fare well to II.04. Bowen safely securing the top goalscorer award with a blistering 5 goals, whilst Ryba secured the most assists with adding 4 more to the season tally.

Sx finally wins his league on the last games and earns himself a spot in the play-off! well done Devils's Angels :)

On the other hand the winner of III.13 received his team 4 days ago and he's gonna play a qualification game next week-end... It just proves how ridiculous that new rules is...

Thought that proves the opposite actually, in that a new team can win in III, they beat the team who were 2nd.

Haha, actually, by my calculations, it's all square at the top of II.03!!

Krayzee +36-3 = +33
Cumlion +29+4 = +33

So does that mean it goes to count-back on head-to-head? Krayzee 2x 1:0 wins...
and Larikan just 1pt behind...

I love this league!
2008-09-07 09:22:11
the next step is who scored the most goals...which was krayzee
2008-09-07 09:26:50
head to head never features in calculation. I was living proof of that in the A League a couple of seasons back where I won on finishing higher than Cloete in the previous season, despite losing both games to the Roar that season.

Should be:

Points
GD
Goals For
Position of League Last Season

Ah, makes sense. What a finish!

So not only have I set up a tougher quali for Krayzee against Tollygunge, but the 3rd yellow to Kohler and red to Van de Kerhof means he'll be missing two key players. :-/ sorry mate. Still, in this game I expect the impossible.

1. 31 Krayzee Coconuts
2. 31 Cumlionibus
3. 30 Larikan FC
4. 29 Team Moose Power
5. 21 FC de BEARS

I really feel for whoever has drawn FC de Bears in their quali match. That's not going to be pretty.

It was great to get the better of Krayzee today. The score doesn't reflect the nature of the game... given it was 2:1 at 68' then 2:5 at 90'. It's just what I needed after a couple of demoralising results.

This rule is ridiculous, there's a lot of people like me that have been around long enough and even have spent a few cents to get plus...
This guy turns up (not his fault) get a team and get to play promotion straight away...
I'm not good enough to promote that's one thing and I know it but seeing things like this is just a tad bit annoying...

It's not ridiculous cause he pulled a win, it's ridiculous because it doesnt respect the existing users... that's my point since the day they introduced this stupid rule.

A team like his wouldnt last in II and would very likely force him to quit anyway...
2008-09-07 10:03:08
Yep, unlucky timing in this instance. I'm sure it will be addressed in future. With any luck the new team will be beaten in the quali match and the natural order will be restored in this case.

Oh, and this is no newbie manager we're talking about... it's Eddie, he's back! Previously a div II.03 manager of inter united. I thought the name looked familiar.
He didn't just pull off a lucky win... he trounced the only other human managed team in the league 3:0.
(editado)
2008-09-07 10:11:57
Yeah I can understand that, I agree it's more than a bit dodgy, they'll lose anyway though I'm quite sure.
2008-09-07 10:30:30
ah crap forgot to throw my match...

never thought i'd dominate so hard though, shows what a season of training can do

now my supporters are gonna be mad at me when i lose the quali game :(
2008-09-07 10:38:58
As Vivski has said - its Eddie! He is back and managing again =) He is no stranger to the game but had to give it up short term due to time restraints... He is no slouch as a manager either. Unlikely he will promote but has the tactical ability to make himself a nuisance.
