Asunto: The "give your team the hairdryer treatm
What hasn't changed as far as I'm aware is the supporters that join each week. The only thing that changed was the actual mood calculation, so the drops in numbers would have/could have been the same as previously. When I was coming 7th and 8th a few seasons back I lost about 200 supporters for the season due to having low mood.
Still the drops are pretty extreme. I won my last two friendlies and A League match against decent opposition and jumped from losing hope to delighted.

Tribe get a key win against #2 team in A-League and the (briefly :P ) top-ranked team in Australia, to become once again the top-ranked team in Australia.
The fans are now merely depressed as 8 more vote with their feet.
Maybe I and everyone else will just have to accept that the cup is now much more important and the first half of the season is where you gain fans and the 2nd half of the season is where you hang on to as many as you can.

I don't think it's that. I'm at madly in love and gaining fans. I seriously find it strange you only went up 1-2 supporter moods from beating Frogmeisters. Would have thought you should have gone up 3-4 but maybe a 1 goal win doesn't cover it when you're ranked favourite :s. That's sokker for you though and further proof the current system is somewhat penalising to equal the playing field.
For whatever reason, I'm somehow ranked low compared to most teams and consequently a loss drops me 2-3 levels but a win picks me back up 2-3 levels. So I've been hovering between top and bottom all season and it's been a bit of a roller coaster ride.
I still believe it's too extreme, I think I've said that all along. The concept in itself was fine but the severity is just too punishing given how random sokker can be.

My mood graph is
7 7 7 7 7 4 2 1 0 1 2 2
I thought I understood the drop, but I too expected more of a rise over the weekend.

Think Man U going 4 games without a win and losing to teams in the bottom half.
The way I see it, it's equalising things out. When you're at the top of the league and significantly higher ranked, you're expected to win. If you're at the bottom you've got nothing to lose.
And by equalising, I don't mean pulling the good teams back to the field. I mean, if you lose to the bad teams you are not as good as you or your supporters thought you were, so you get docked fans, mood and rank. If you get an underdog win, you're rewarded.
It's wrong of my fans to expect me to win any games this season. So if I win a game, I expect them to be jubilant!

In theory that works, but here you also lose supporter mood when you win in some circumstances.
Like I said the concept is great, the problem is it's too extreme such that it's even possible to lose supporter mood even if you thrash someone. Given sokker already has a factor that keeps the scorelines down, suddenly the extra pain of having to win by 15+ goals to maintain supporter mood as anything else decreases the mood is difficult.
The other problem is, if naph can't get supporter mood for beating Frogmeisters who had a better ranking and better positioned on the ladder, then there's no one in Australia that naph can actually gain supporter mood from, thus making it an endless pain for one or two losses.

If naph goes through the season undefeated, he'll be up at the top supporter mood. If he's beaten then he'll be brought back to the field where it's easier to gain mood.
If Melbourne Victory arranged a friendly with the Yass U18 team, I'm not sure I'd be too happy either.
The scenario you're describing is equally as extreme. I've not known anyone to arrange a reasonable friendly, win and lose mood. Equally, you can't build mood by flogging div 3 teams.
Naph gained a mood point by beating TMP 1:0. Sounds about right to me.
We also have a fairly eclectic ranking situation with teams going in and out of consciousness. Roar sitting at the bottom of A-League despite being a top 4 team. Yourself yo-yo-ing, TBF collapsing at the knees, etc. It's not going to be a stable environment for rankings... particularly with PRT returning from a sabbatical... low on ranking and high on quality now at the top of the A-League.
It's PRT's inaccurate ranking which caused the hit to naph's mood. It will stabilise when PRT's back to the appropriate ranking.

Of course, I understand the pain. But that's the way it is at the moment. If the top 2 league levels in Australia stabilise, so will the supporter moods. Until then, things will continue to fluctuate.

So basically what you're saying is that when Juventus (I think it was them anyway) played Melbourne Victory in a friendly and won, that Juventus supporters should have stopped supporting their side and be extremely disappointed that they didn't win by more :p.
As stated before I think the system is better other than the circumstances where it happens that supporters get angrier when they win. In reality that doesn't often happen. They might be annoyed they didn't win by more for all of about 1day but it won't drive them away or reduce their enthusiasm for the club. Maybe it might have a bigger effect if it was continuous in that after say 7-8 matches consecutively of not winning by sufficient margins though.

I'm not sure the exemple of a friendly game is accurate...especially how they contribute in this game but if it was a league game then yeah I'll understand the fans would be disapointed! ;p
If you have 2000 fans and 20 leave on monday that's only 1% of the fan base, looking at it this way offer a different view...

Why does friendly have the same ranking value as league? It would seem an easy fix to times friendly ranking point change by 50%. But I guess that would have the effect of providing a massive boost to existing big teams that have big runs in the cup that would still have full ranking point effect.

You're implying that you drop 7 mood levels when you beat a weaker team. I don't think that's a good representation of the current state of affairs.
Also, I'm sure a percentage of Juve fans lost interest while their team was off playing some local team overseas... which is kinda the point... play dodgy teams in non-event games and you will lose fans.

It has been discussed at length. The powers that be are quite stubborn. They have made up their mind that you should treat friendlies like they're important and not play stupid tactics to save your players from injury.
Pretty much everyone else is crying out for friendlies to still count but less, like your 50% suggestion.

If you want friendlies to be 50% of what they currently contribute towards ranking points then you need the training to do the same...
I don't have a problem with friendlies, the rules are what they are, I've trimmed my rosters so I can win them more often this season... conclusion: save salary money, more ranking points, fan mood less affected, player's trained properly.

I've done the same this season and I reckon in general the guys playing 2 games have had their form go down. Coincidence?
I was going to say the opposite... all benefit especially for my strikers!
