I was going to say the opposite... all benefit especially for my strikers!

The human condition... reading meaning into random acts. Take miracles for example.

You're implying that you drop 7 mood levels when you beat a weaker team.

I wasn't implying a 7 mood drop at all. I was actually implying a 1 level drop for winning which over a period of 6-7 weeks ended up resulting in a drop of 7 mood levels for 7 straight wins.

I'm just saying that despite playing poorly, you don't leave feeling any weaker about your side after a win that wasn't as high as you'd wanted other than the initial 24 hour or so period after the game. Otherwise I'd have torn my Brumbies membership up by now.

A loss or draw unexpectedly is different. You do feel frustrated and you do lose some respect for the team.

I'm not suggesting that you should always gain when you win, I just don't believe in losing when you win in a league situation.

The system appears reasonable for sides losing to weaker sides and vice versa, so we'll just have to agree to disagree on the other case of winning games 5 or 6 to 0 and losing supporter mood. Hasn't happened in Australia yet that I'm aware of but it could easily do if certain teams fail to survive the top league and other weaker teams come up to replace them.

I agree to the principle that you should not beat a team in either league or cup and lose supporters, mood or rank for it.

Also, I think a win is a win, no matter how big. If you win, you should get the maximum ranking/mood boost available (depending on relative ranking to your opponent). If you draw or lose then it's another matter.

If I win 1-0 instead of 4 or 5-0 I forgive my fans for not picking up a bit of mood... expectation is often a source of disappointment in life! And if it's on the back of a bad result I can understand they lose a bit of faith too.
The extreme mood swings I'm not sure though but I haven't experienced those (... in sokker!)

Another thing that just confused me is that the "supporter levels" in the rules go from 1-7, but the mood graph (plus) goes from 0-7. In the rules it looks like "depressed" fans are level 3 (just below half of the range) but on the graph I'm still showing 2 of 7, which is closer to the bottom end.

The top and second top lines are both madly in love so I think the top line is "super madly in love"
2009-07-29 06:02:44
i think its sublevels
2009-07-29 09:48:25
there's issues with the supporter mood graph displaying incorrectly and I'm not 100% sure it's been fixed yet but it is a known problem.
2009-07-29 15:06:51
i'm pretty certain levels 6 and 7 are sublevels, since i lost my friendly today and my supporters' mood graph dropped a level from 7 to 6, but it still says madly in love
2009-07-29 15:18:46
Yeah 6/7 I'm sure are. 7 is probably like a max madly in love a bit like how superdivine and divine work. I wasn't referring to that but it is known there are/were issues where the graph doesn't display correctly for the lower levels I'm quite positive.
