Being a bot isn't that big a disadvantage (until a-league). Not many Australian sokker users actually use tactics making it a battle of who has the best players.
I think that was what vivski was getting at. When you look at it, the first season in any new division is tough. How hard was it from III to II first season? Most finish in the bottom 4. So that next step to the A League against 6-7 established teams or teams who had been there before it's very tough to survive. Next time vivski promotes (which I'd imagine will be next season) I'm sure he'll get even closer to the top teams.
As for myself, well we all known what went wrong there and I don't even intend to look for any ;). I'm going to pay the price for it as well :).

Losing hope is a step up. We'll see what happens after the Cup game on Wednesday.

I don't get it...just had a friendly against Fremantle United. Its his first season as well and he only started 2 weeks before me yet his players absolutely shat all over mine, i mean we got owned they were running straight through the defense. am i doing something wrong. i got a whole bunch of young guys to train but does that put me at too much of disadvantage to even stay competitive in the league?
i dont want to drop lower than III but i know i cant go up with a team like ELman FC in there
trust me, you dont want to go up until you deserve to...

Well here's the thing to consider:
Fremantle United have opted for the quick build method with an average age of 28+. That means they've spent most of their money, and won't improve from 33 average ratings for quite some time (and possibly will have to replace them all in 3-4 seasons).
On the other hand, you've got a fairly young squad and that will improve with proper training. You'll catch up with those marks pretty quickly (probably 1-2 seasons) and then overtake them, whilst still having a fairly young squad. At the same time you'll have spent time learning the game and hopefully in the not too distant future learning how to use the tactical editor which is crucial for survival in II.
Nothing wrong with spending a few seasons developing in the lower division. Many a side have done that :).
The best rewards usually come to those who have patience in this game. Always think long-term, particularly when just starting up.

Sigh, now you have to climb that ladder again. I'm hoping I can keep going until I get forced out by an A League side but that requires me to keep getting good draws.
It's like playing snakes and ladders where you've taken ages to climb towards the top only to land on the snake that slides you all the way back down :(.

*sigh*
Why do I do it? Whenever I plan to buy a handful of young trainees, I end up going out and blowing the lot on one player!
Silly. It will probably lose me some big bucks, but I'll have fun training the guy.

Do you know what that means guys? That's a frown! You're making the fans sad. That makes me sad, then I make you sad... its just a bad place to be. Put the ball in the back of the net some more already.
