That's very true. It was an honour to represent Australia on the world stage.
Hopefully one of us can go a little deeper into the competition next season.

In many nations an user not will have never this honour.
Play in A league is wonderful, but very difficult in nations with 4000 users.
But your team is a good team, you can play vs many international team without fear.
good luck for next champions!

Somebody forgot to -
a) tell my trainer to improve the players
or
b) tell my players to listen to the trainer
In what must be a first....absolutely no pops (& yes training was set)....& I don't include form in that.
Combined with my yoof drought....not good. :-(

well your players improved as much as they would any week for the same amount of action. Just wasn't visible to see a pop ;). These weeks happen from time to time, particularly when you're not training stamina/pace and are starting to have an established squad that's not full of young hopefuls.
Something like 20 shots to 2 today....2-0 the scoreline. All over them like a cheap suit in the first half, starting to think at half time, 1-0 isn't enough......you start to have nightmares of them scoring a lucky goal.
Still, resisted the temptation in throwing money at over 25s on the TM to replace Bodden & Otrada. The end of my cup run is nigh. :-(

Who needs over 25's, my squad average age is 24.2 in A-League

My ave age is even lower -
1 x 25yo
3 x 24yo
2 x 23yo...the rest are younger.
I'm finding with the TM at the mo', anything of quality in a midfield sense is stupidly overpriced if they're under 24....or you get bid out of the park by the Polish, Czech, Romanian etc managers.
For now, I'm finding the only quality at a cut price, or even realistic price, is over 25 or even older.
It's at least had a big say in me ditching def training at some point this season to switch to mf training.

Yeah but midfield training has it's fair share of problems also. Buying trainees isn't exactly cheap, then getting enough of them with appropriate talent hurts too because you've got to train up 5 skills instead of 2-3. That's why midfielders are worth so much under 24. You really need to pick up 28yr olds for about 4-5m and keep them for 4 seasons then sell them off again for 2-2.5m to pick up a new one.
Still midfielders, strikers and goalkeepers are terribly expensive. I switched from striker training to midfield training to reduce the amount I had to keep forking out every few seasons which led to my rather excessive transfer losses. I'm slowly starting to claw it back and would be ahead had I not purchased Gaina for 8-9m a season ago (which was still a bargain).

yeah, I may have to go for older midfielders as can't see any chance bringing in younger players at the mo....& no point trying to compete against the bigger countries on that front.
What you need to do as a defender trainer is pick guys already with secondaries, grab 10 trainees, train them til they reach 21-22 in defender/pace/tech or pm, then flog 5 of them off whilst other defender trainers might be interested in training them the rest of the way. Bring in another 5 and train them up til they get to 21-22 then decide on whether to sell your older 5 or those that just trained and just keep repeating.
Unlike midfielders/strikers who sell very well later on, defenders seem to sell best when sold earlier, unless they are extremely good. So 26yo no later for defs, but given the time factor it's almost better to sacrifice a bit of skill for age to cycle through cash quicker.
Then use your profits to buy your other positions.

After having trained defs, and trying exactly that, buying def with secondaries is a waste. You compete with mids to buy them, and you don't get the profits in the end.
My best advice is either buy young guys with high def (incred) and pace and have 5 or 6 mid trainees. Train def til they hit magical, and then train everyone as mids. You end up with defenders that have secondaries, and a bunch of good mids.
The other option, is to buy young defenders who don't have any secondaries (so 16/17yos are best) and just train defender and pace until they hit unearthly/divine and sell off.

Depends if by secondaries you mean passing/pm. If you just get tech and really low passing, you'll avoid a fair few of the midfield poaches I'd imagine. I guess I might be wrong, I've never trained defenders to find out ;).

It is just silly when you are competing with a Polska div V team for a 6 million $ player.... DIV V!!!!
