My fans seem to prefer benches to seats. I charged them $3 flat rate per tix at the junior match today.

LOL. I've never bothered with pricing down for junior league.
I do recall in my former SK life, how benches seemed to fill just as well, at similar price to seats, where there were 1-2 bench sections...I think that's why I made my stadium this way again. Although not sure about the terraced end, but thought I'd give it a bash for now. :)

WTF is this, I'll tell you what it is, it's BS haha. Sold for 40mill, 24mill and 12mill respectively (when they were last sold)

It's definitely quite a range for prices when they are at first glance pretty similar. Would be interesting to know when they were last sold, what week of the season it was, what day/time they sold at and whether their talents are different. Myabe one was advertised more then the other, for example could have advertised in Poland and attracted the attention of a number of users there. Just throwing things out, but yeah it does seem a bit too wide a margin. The 12m drew the short straw looking at it.

Yeah, its not great on my end either let me tell you.
Last 3 "trainee" sales.
-$1.8M
-$560k
-$680k
... yeah, so this isn't working.
Might have to choose a primary and try something different... but that would mean trying to work the transfer market... Ugghh.

It's certainly a hard toss up as to what to do.
I think pace training is all about hoping for a few random pops quick to then resell.
A lot of people supposedly make a lot of money with pace but my experience is players go for almost as much (when I'm trying to buy) without pace, as they do with pace.
The good thing is you can train a lot of players, so you don't need to sell for massive amounts.
But you are right, primaries probably sell for more, although it's even more frustrating when they don't sell for a lot either

Posting here as well to get diverse opinions.

So I got more money from my mids who I was just training for pace than my defenders who I was training for both pace and defending. My highest sold players so far have both been mids for whom I wasn't even paying special attention to except for making sure that they train pace. The money I have received from selling defenders hasn't been impressive which means I need to be more particular about who I buy.
Just as an example, here are the 2 mids:
Çavlan Papacostas, age: 21[+1], height: 180 cm

Márton Bereczki, age: 20[+2], height: 175 cm

Basically the money I received from the 2 defenders is 1/10th of the money I got from my mids which speaks a lot.

So much harder to train mids & I guess secondaries are more important so can see why the sell for more.
Defenders usually sell for less than mids and strikers.
1) You generally need more defenders then midfielders, so you tend to want to pay less for them. Should you only require 1 or 2 you'd be more tempted to pay more for the 1 or 2, then to purchase 4-5.
2) Midfielders require more skills and are therefore harder to train to be great players, so often look more attractive despite having lower primary skill levels (probably have higher total skills though due to needing multiple skills).
3) Mids and strikers are usually the ones who do the attacking work so people generally pay more for things that lead to more offensive gameplay.
4) Your defenders have terrible form, both lack technique and one lacks pm all knocks the price back (although form probably more so).
5) Excellent defending probably doesn't cut it for non defender trainers, and 20/21 probably doesn't cut it for defender trainers either.
I've never done it but I'd imagine defender training would be the easiest to manage and still be competitive. You can train 10 and aren't therefore forced to play a certain way tactically that goes against the meta game/match engine. You can easily stick to back 4, 1 defensive midfielder each week and still play a 5-4-1 or 4-1-3-2. Fairly easy skills required, can get away with defender, pace, tech and pm (passing handy but not essential, as you can just find one with a reasonable passing level to begin with to train).
Compare that to a midfield which requires all those skills mandatory (striker and defender are potentially also required in a similar way as defenders with passing), having to train 10 a week means you're forced to either drop a defender or drop a striker tactically.
Striker training is probably easier then defenders (only requires 3 skills really) except you can only train a max of 6 (so has 4 less from which to make profit on) but is a nightmare for training when it's time for striker training as you're forced to play a front 3 and drop a mid or def leaving you more vulnerable. You've then got to fork out for 9 positions to fill your team as opposed to 6 (noting that def training may lead to you being able to plug a hole in a midfield position saving you additional players).
Not saying I agree with it, but I do understand why. On the flip side, defender trainees should be cheaper to pick up then mid trainees and striker trainees for the same reasons.

Yes, I understand that training defense doesn't bring in as much money as training mids/strikers but it's much easier to train for beginners. What I'm surprised with is the amount of money that they were sold for and that they were just 1/10th of the amount that I received from mids even without paying attention to them.
I come to understand 3 things from this:
1) I need to be more choosy about who I buy. Maybe I need to spill more of my money to get better returns. Of course, those were earlier days, so I anyway couldn't have afforded costlier players.
2) Even if you are training defenders, it doesn't hurt to have young mids/strikers and give them pace training. You never know, they might fetch you more than your defenders with those random pops.
3) Form is a crucial element to decide how much your player goes for since it inflates the value of the player. Bereczki reached divine form just at the right time (he was brilliant just a week back) which might have got me an extra 20%-30%.
I knew about the impact of form but not all things fall in place at the right time. Sometimes, it's better to sell a player when he has just popped in some skill instead of selling him when he is just about to pop.
The other thing is, both of my defenders performed well in training I feel, and I was expecting atleast say, 10x extra but I didn't even receive that. So I think sometimes you've to set a certain minimum amount and hope that there's some person who feels that the player is good and fits his training schedule.

Date and time when the sale ends plays a big role too. More likely to generate more interest by selling later sktime then early. Similarly, I think that Sunday just before league matches in Europe often can fetch greater prices as more people are online and might also be looking for players for their league match. Even the week of the season can be a difference in that the weeks between seasons and the end of season bonuses often drags people to spend more then they would during the season.

The time required on the transfer market in my/our time zone(s) is such an interest killer.
I don't want to run my life around this game. Even overbidding doesn't reliably work (and is a long term losing strategy anyway)
