This guy is a legend! He's scored 8 goals in 7 matches for me. Considering my team has scored 11 goals between them, my success in the bottom division is mainly due to him. He scores goals from just about anywhere.
I don't get it....
Why is he scoring so many goals when his skill is soo low? Look at this:
Zygmunt Kotkiewicz , age 17
value: 40 400 AU$, wage: 840 AU$
good form
good stamina,
poor pace,
average technique,
weak passing,
tragic keeper
unsatisfactory defender
hopeless playmaker
weak striker

He's scoring because the opposition you play against doesn't have a very good defensive structure in their tactics, and as a result he gets 1 on 1's with the keeper I imagine and slots them home, basically what I'm guessing anyway.
yep, what cometer said.
I bet if you played against me 10 times then he wouldn't even get a good shot on goal (excluding idiot shots from 35m out just as he gets the ball)

even against me, he wouldnt get past my defenders, or even my midfield with those kind of stats.
Well.... I suppose when I get promoted to the 3rd division I have to think about getting a different striker.
i want to play a friendly against him i have a guy pretty similar lol trying to rain him up a bit

Is that similar to chinese water torture? Flood him with opportunities.
I did buy this player a few weeks ago:
Mircea Săndulescu, age: 18
value: 84 000 AU$, wage: 1 240 AU$
club: Sydney La Vida Loca`s, country: România
outstanding form, poor tactical discipline
weak stamina, hopeless keeper
good pace, hopeless defender
average technique, hopeless playmaker
average passing, adequate striker
Statistics:
Official matches: 4
Goals in official matches: 2
Assists in official matches: 0
He could become better than Kotkiewicz for me. I bought him for 50K of a team in bankruptsy. I thought it was a waste of money at first, but strikers with pace are a good option.
Kotkiewicz and Săndulescu are my on my main lineup. These guys, plus my goalkeeper Vince Murphy are the reason why I'm smashin everyone in my debut season. But I still have a problem with theses Săndulescu:
Whenever he gets the ball, he attempts to shoot from distance. I often have Kotkiewicz in a better position, but Săndulescu won't pass. Or Săndulescu would shoot from distance when there are no defenders in front of him and he can go 1v1 on the keeper. He wastes perfectly good scoring opportunities. That's the reason why I think Kotkiewicz is my best striker. What's the problem?

maybe hes just dumb. even so i wouldnt say its a waste of money hes pretty young and if talented could be your long term success
Săndulescu just scored 4 goals in my last match. And Kotkiewicz scored 2.
What do you guys think of my latest signing for $80,000? I desperately needed a good defender and this guy was worth the money:
Tytus Smoktunowicz, age: 23
value: 138 400 AU$, wage: 3 120 AU$
club: Sydney La Vida Loca`s, country: Polska
tragic form, unsatisfactory tactical discipline
bookings:
formidable stamina, hopeless keeper
adequate pace, good defender
poor technique, poor playmaker
adequate passing, average striker

to be honest i dont think he is worth that much. if he was 16-17 I may have considered splashing out 80,000 on him.
Look at this fella i picked up for less than 5 bucks! Hes crap now but by the time hes 23 :) (of course im gambling on talent but its little money)
Age 17
weak stamina, tragic keeper
hopeless pace, good defender
hopeless technique, weak playmaker
average passing, good striker

While you're spending money and more importantly time on Kotkiewicz, you could be training up a good striker. Even at the end of next season he wont be worth anything. If you were training DEF then having Kotkiewicz in the team would be no damage, but to have him being trained is a complete waste. You are actively throwing money away.
Training spots are precious, especially when your team is young... you can grow your players into valuable assets. My team is now 3 and a half seasons old, the players I trained during my season are the players who made my growth into a team worth over $5m. It's all thanks to the advice I got from Cloete and Beastly first up.
It doesn't matter who you sit in the positions you're not training, but it's of utmost important who takes up the training slots. That's how your team grows and you need players who will grow massively. At the end of next season, your team will be two seasons old (over half of mine) and Kotkiewicz will be worth maybe 100k market value.
Skip the dead time where the player is worth nothing and buy players worth 100k... that's when they're primed for big growth. Fill your training spots with young, talented, skilled players and you will reap the rewards.
