As long as players have talent and get trained with the right training setup, seemingly rubbish players can become NT players. One player that I sold for £1650 quite a few seasons ago has had a few NT caps this season for instance!

Yeah it's amazing how some players develop due to their high talents as they just race past others who came out stronger but with a lower talent.

Also you have some good players you know have the talent (Lawton, Pottier, Schwarzer) but really have to let them go since they will not get the proper training.

Yeah, same for me when letting go of Jackson. Knew he had the potential to become a genuine midfielder and I wasn't training that so ended up selling him. That's usually the best thing to do when you know they've got potential but you can't give them the proper attention they need well at least that's my perspective.

And how he's progressed.

Won't be surprised if he makes the NT full time in a couple of seasons.

The way managers decide to train players also matters. My preferance for pace/tech over striker training has hurt them and other strikers on my books, but thats just the way ive decided to go as i dont rate striker skill as high as others.

Luck comes into it as well, where none of my youth pulls that ive sold have gone onto play for the NT. I have had an outstand youth coach for a while now but funnily enough all 6 of my striker trainees have been from the youth school (and all were talented and of pretty high quality), everything else a bit of rubbish :)
