Asunto: Coach Prices
I scored this 59yo coach on the first roll. 4x16 in the skills I'm training this season. Would love to swap passing and stamina, but I'm tempted to keep him, knowing that it might cost over a mil to get a better one.
Is 10 passing too low? Hmm.
wage: 45 920 AU$
magical [15] of stamina hopeless [1] of keeper
unearthly [16] of pace unearthly [16] of defender
unearthly [16] of technique incredible [13] of playmaker
excellent [10] of passing unearthly [16] of striker

I’d say 10 is too low if you’re training passing as a primary skill at the moment. If you’re not directly training passing it’s probably workable. Everything comes down to costs though.
10 is definitely too low if training as a primary school.
As a secondary skill it probably depends what kind of players you are training.
Lots of mids, too low. Defenders, I'd like higher but not too bad. Strikers, will make minimal difference

If I was training passing, it would have to be unearthly. I'm not training passing this season, but I do have young mids and defs. He's also 59yo, so might not be around too long.
The idea was for him to get me through to when the market cools off, but coach prices are still astronomical. 3mil+ for a fairly old head coach yesterday.
Guess I'll be going back to throw some more coins down the well.

I’m not sure the coach market will ever cool off and that this is instead the new normal as coaches continue to retire and no changes are made to what coaches end up on the transfer list.
What you said is what my first thoughts were too. He is 59, he may just put in his resignation to retire, he probably fills the gap for the next season or two
I went hunting for a 6x16 coach. It started well, with a couple of nice 5x16, then had a run of duds and decided to limit my losses. Still spent less than I would have on the market.
Having grown up in div 2, I still have a mindset of running the club on a shoestring budget, which has meant minimal spend on coaching staff, optimal wages for assistants & youth and only unearthly in the skills I'm actively training.
Now that I'm a full time A-League club, I guess it's time to spend a little more and upgrade my coaches.
Perry Zorbas, age: 40
wage: 50 720 AU$
brilliant [14] coach
incredible [13] of stamina poor [3] of keeper
unearthly [16] of pace unearthly [16] of defender
unearthly [16] of technique unearthly [16] of playmaker
unearthly [16] of passing brilliant [14] of striker
.
Bob Myburg, age: 54
wage: 48 840 AU$
incredible [13] coach
excellent [10] of stamina hopeless [1] of keeper
unearthly [16] of pace unearthly [16] of defender
unearthly [16] of technique brilliant [14] of playmaker
unearthly [16] of passing unearthly [16] of striker
These are the two I ended up with. I'm training pace def tech stk. Myberg is a minor improvement on Casserly. Happy with him.
Zorbas is so good as a 40yo that I might need to keep him to use as my youth coach, so I can swap him in to train PM as needed. Not optimal wage for brilliant, but not too far away.
And my current incred [13] youth coach can step into assistant role. It's higher wage than in used to for an assistant and I'm not sure if it's sustainable, but I'll give it a go.

Nice pulls, and good to see they at least have some stamina (helps with making them useful for u21s, but I am able to work with whatever is sent my way).
You are definitely an A-League team now, so you can probably afford to spend without thinking about the yoyoing between divisions

I signed up 3 other nice coaches that came up in my recruitment to donate them to the market at amicable times, but they decided not to go on the market and are lost to the game. I guess there's a clause to prevent people flooding the market with coaches.
If anyone would like a solid assistant with a nice low wage, the one I replaced is now on the available on the transfer list.

Done really well there with the GK levels helping keep wages down.
Probably too late if you have let the 59yo go, but he may be around for a few seasons yet. I had one retire as soon as he was eligible but another who was a year older has decided to hang around for another season on top of the last one.
I’m expecting he won’t go for the third season now he’s at retirement age…but who knows…maybe he’s got nowhere to go.
