Div 1 is the exact opposite. You can play reserves in the league & your strongest team in the cup to try a get a good cup run & some extra cash. If I was you maleldil I would stay in Div1 until you improve. Getting 14 defeats in the Premier will drive you mad. Many a team have quit after a season of beatings & it's a long few months to get back into Div1. Use the playoff game for extra cash & training but beware, there could be a Premier team who want to come down & will try to default or play a weak team. And that wouldn't be good news.

nah, I am ready. Looking at Bruce City you can go well in this game with just one world class striker and one great keeper.

You also need players who can get the ball to that striker & players that can keep the ball away from your keeper. Bruce City in their prime had plenty of these players.

I do have some money in the bank to buy them - but obv. not a whole team

Bruce City had a pretty good defensive and passing midfield aswell, back in the day he had wingers aswell but I think he gave up on them towards the end.

So he did have all-round decent side.

Currently my team is in decline, I will need to do something to keep a decent performance going, fair chance I wont though. I think some of the other teams are in decline too, but some are on the up.

well, after forgetting to set up the lineup last week (!) I managed to win the last game and have a playoff against Caledonian

Think you are playing Shankly's as Caledonian won tonight to move out of the playoffs. Not easy but at least you get a big payday playing at Shankly's stadium.
