Sakartvelo - Scotland 1:3
OMG... Let me start by saying that coach Sakartvelo NEVER changes tactics. So I specifically created a tactic that protects his most dangerous side - so I put our two defenders there, and on the other side I gave two youngsters so they can play the game calmly without touching the ball.
The match started, and I noticed that coach Sakartvelo changed tactics and used MIRROR. That is, the two youngsters who were supposed to do nothing for the whole match.... had a real horror show :P
Fortunately for me, we won the match anyway...but in a very ugly style... :)
I really don't like 2 winger tactics nor a single CM player :)
So... the tactics changed every 15 minutes... we played 15 minutes of 5-2-1-2, then switched to an offensive setting of 5-1-2-2.
These are friendly matches, so trying to find the golden way of offensive and defensive tactics in one :-)
and I might slightly agree with you, maybe it doesn't look good... but I've studied the Sakartvelo game a bit over the last while and it seemed like a good way to play...
if we had set the tactics right today his WING would not have gone through once and he would not have created any situation. I am sure of it ;-)

But you over anticipated. Which is not really teaching you a lot in general :)
I mean, had you played a "non 1 winger anticipating" tactic, you'd probably have won easily. And it could have taught you more (How often do you have better teams which use the same tactic all the time).
Of course, my view only :D
My comment was also meant more in general based on the "frozen" tactic view. 1 CM usually not enough to stop the opponent midfield. And usually if the opponent kills one of your wings, there's a little chance the other winger will do much damage (defense is usually symmetrical). Again, based on frozen tactic view. Maybe there was always a lower winger and you had lots of side-changing passes which left the winger completely free (didn't see the game).

I agree with you that one CM cannot stop two opposing midfielders. It's immediately obvious you didn't watch the game. Because it's only temporary episodes where we play like that. I'll just add that it was with this offensive set-up that we scored 3 goals and that was the point :)

Scotland - Slovenija
First important match in the U27 tournament. Time to show our strength!
The goal for this match is to get 3 points, create and exploit as many situations as possible and for our GK to show class and keep a clean sheet.

I cannot believe it. This is the second tournament he won't play in because of injuries. Maybe it's not an injury, but something else? :p

Scotland - Slovenija 3:0
Let me start by saying that it was finally a good game by our team. We didn't lose a goal - which makes me happy in the end. We scored 3 goals - here we could have had a better result, unfortunately the efficiency in this match was not good(17 shots).
I didn't like the play of our defenders in today's game, when they could pass the ball - they tried to dribble. But I understand that... after all, it's a young squad.
All in all I'm happy with the win as it's the first 3 points at the U27 tournament :-)
