Very nice, Theunis. Those are very nice stats for 17 year olds. Both will certainly be in the running for the u21 NT if trained.

I got three pulls today. Two are bad. The other is a striker. Skills not good, but he's only 16.

Cool, we need another keeper for next season. We've only got two and one is a bot.

Theunis' two youngsters fetched mega bucks. Well done, mate!
I've called them both up to the squad. They're only 17, but I'm hoping their managers paid those sums for them because they intend to train them.

I can calm you down.
I bought Molefe and for sure I will train him as good as I can.
It would be crazy if someone would buy such a player for lots of money and do not plan to train him.
2011-04-24 12:56:11
Thanks, that's good to hear. :)

Yes, it would be crazy but it happens more than you would think.
I've seen too many promising youngsters bought and then remain untrained.
With our small user base (only 5 youths schools?), we can't afford to lose any decent trainees.

I am going to train him, but it is really a very delicate balancing act at this stage as I have exciting young midfielders and defenders and they need some training too. I do not want to sell as the managers who buy my youngsters very rarely train them and then sack them after a few weeks.
2011-06-24 09:22:09
Yep, I hear you. It's quite frustrating for me to find good youngsters that haven't been trained when they've been sold.

The problem is that a trainee cannot afford to miss ANY weeks of training.
If you have to rotate so that some miss out, there is no point keeping them. They will never be good enough if they're not trained every week, aside from injuries and suspensions.
