Time for election campaigns and voting again, everyone.
I'm still enjoying the game, with the Champions Cup posing an interesting challenge. My side actually managed to reach the last 16 (4th round) in the first season of the tournament. I still feel that my tactical positional play is not always the best, but I'm happy with that effort and hope we can have a good run again. As far as the u21 is concerned, I'm disappointed that I couldn't squeeze us ahead of Latvia to qualify for the World Cup, but think we did as well as could have been expected.
This coming season will be made up of friendlies, and possibly some player run tournaments. Ideally, the focus would be on improving our ranking to get a decent seeding in the following seasons qualifying campaign. I'm a little concerned about our defensive capabilities at the moment but we have a top class keeper and exciting prospects in midfield and attack. I have been focusing my training efforts on pace and will do so again this season, but it seems that a return to defender training is a must for younger players.
Unless another of our local managers wants to take on the task, I will gladly continue the job of managing our youngsters if you will have me.

Well, it's that time again. I was considering not running for the job again as our results this season (snce week 1) have not been the greatest (won 6, drew 1, lost 7, scored 21, conceded 39) and I haven't really spent enough time on tactics for each match (the last game was awful).
On the positive side....sortof...my analysis at the beginning of last season was correct; our defence is woeful and our keeper was superb. The bad news is that this coming season our defence will be worse and our only decent keeper will be only 19 years old and in tragic form. Results this time around in World Cup qualifying could be ugly and I won't pretend otherwise.
I was considering a move back into defender training but I need to focus my efforts on Zulu, a potential superstar for the senior side, which means more of a mixed bag on midfield type skills. With the news about the match engine changes, this might not actually be a bad thing going forward.
I'd gladly step aside if any of our local managers wants to take over the reigns of the u21's, while still managing the admin of the SA players database. If not, I'll continue to do my best with the side. My strength lies with keeping managers informed regarding their players in the u21 squad and I think this helps a lot in terms of bringing those youngsters through to the senior level.

I think you are doing a very good job considering the defenders you have at your disposal and thanks for always keeping me informed on when my players will play for the under 21's. It is highly appreciated.

One has also need to consider that we are only like 5 active managers so the pool of players are very very limited, considering that we are doing really well
won't you vote in senior NT? Only 2 users would like to see me in next season?:(

We've had a decent enough season this time around, finishing an expected 4th in the WC Qualifiers behind Holland, Latvia and Scotland. We scored 28 goals and conceded 15. Our friendlies resulted in 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, 9 goals for and 4 against.
We've unearthed a few very decent players (eg. Jordan, Cameron, Modise and Bell) and hopefully they will continue to be trained up to senior level.
I'd like to continue working with the u21's, so please go ahead and cast your votes. :)

Thanks Brokus.
Yes, Ramane too but I didn't mention him because he's still 20, not 21. :)

Whoever voted against you withdrew sometime today. I'd be checking the logins

It's already election time again. I'm happy to keep going with the job and would appreciate the votes.
Hope it's not getting too boring for everyone with me being manager of the u21's now for 6 seasons running!
We've had an interesting season this time around. Some good results (draw with Portugal, win over Venezuela) and some disappointing ones (loss to Albania in the MWC, thrashing by Peru) but we did reasonably well considering our defensive frailties. With two matches to go, we've had 4 wins, 4 draws, and 6 losses. The 4 draws (all 1-1) is unusual as we've had 4 draws in total during the previous 5 seasons!
Next season sees us back into World Cup qualifying. As always, I'll warn that it won't be easy, whoever we're drawn against. My focus is always on giving our best players as much game time as possible and to encourage their managers to train them, with a view to getting them into the senior team if they're good enough. I do want to try to bring in more of the much younger players into the squad though. Some of our 16 and 17 year olds are being overlooked and undertrained.
