Well done La Bamba. A great result against a strong opponent. We should have won, but that is the way things go sometimes.

I hope he's a genuine South African and won't get kicked/banned from Sokker, but it's disappointing that he hasn't replied to you.

Same old song, we outplayed the opponent, but couldn't score a goal, watching our strikers is painfull. For the first time Methula played the way I imagined, he was really dangerous in the 1st half, unfortunately of course for the 1st time I also changed the tactic with him, which was a mistake, the 2nd half tactic didn't really work, because the center midfield was too crowded, I wanted to pressure the ball and dominate with short passes and through passes behind defense, but it sucked..
We should have won this match anyway.. we had couple nice chances where our strikers were 1on1 against the GK, but failed.. we also hit the post..Island on the other hand was harmless offensively..
Our only chance to score a goal is through wing or I have to guess the stance of the defense exactly at the same "line" as our strikers, if they stand only 1 "metre" in front of the defense, we are screwed, our strikers of course can't outrun anybody and they won't win a single duel with a defender..Our shooting efficiency today was also frustrating..
I should have kept the winger this time or at least place our off MIDs little wider..I'm really dissapointed!

So he did reply to me asking for help, I redirected him to your Robnob's Newbie Guide and wrote him some advices..I don't know, if he is SA, but his English sucks (sounds like google translator), so idk if he would understand it :-)

Spot on analysis of the match. We totally dominated again but our strikers are hopeless, even when you used four of them! In our last 3 matches they have had 21 shots according to the official stats and scored only one goal; that says it all.
Methula did play well in the first half and the positioning in the second half didn't work, but Island substituted their left back during the second half and that might have negated Methula anyway. The idea to change tactics was still a good one, so maybe you just need to find a better position for him to occupy in the other half.
I thought Hendricks was useless in the second half and probably should have been substituted 20 minutes earlier. Other than that, the team did well.

Yeah I agree Hendricks should have left sooner..but for whom? Felix has tragic form..(he actually played ok though). I think our whole midfield was loosing stamina in 2nd half (compared to Island) and they didn't dominate as in the 1st half..

I bought 18 year old striker Lushozi and GK Mabedi for nice prices and I'll try their talent..
I have 2 of our 3 best 18 year old strikers now :-)
I'll put McClure on TL, unfortunately he has no talent..didn't pop from weak pace in 3 weeks..

Today's easy win and dominant performance was offset by injuries to Molefe and especially to Matsau (18 days), which is a big loss for next matches, not to mention Matsau will loose valuable training..:-(
It was not very pretty match with lots of mistakes, but we clearly outclassed our opponent (We had record ratings and marks today, almost 50..) 22:2 shots on goal (including obligatory cross bar from Ludick, his speciality in last couple games and lots of wasted goal opportunities as usual) and 67% play in the half. My decision to play defenders deeper helped with our dominance in this category as we were able to keep the ball on their half more and create some other additional opportunities this way. It cost us surprisingly only 1 break away chance, which we survived anyway..
I'm glad to say our search for striker is over, Sitholes made a vigorous case for himself to be a starter despite his still poor (literally) form. He could score 5 goals in the 1st half alone..I think his height is a great asset also..I convinced his owner to train him in technique instead of striker (he didnt want to train pace) so he should get even better now..
There were some negatives too (except the obvious injuries), some of our throw ins were again pretty confusing to me, I know they usually target the player upfront, but that was just stupid, this simply doesn't happen to me in my club. Could this be cause of player's experience? Our defenders also clearly don't have enough PM and when they were forced to create something as they were this deep in the field, they struggled and kicked the ball out multiple times..
I should also set more conditional orders for injuries to avoid unfitting substitutions..nevertheless Lekgwathi possibly played even better as MID than as a striker:-)

Very good performance by the team. The early stages of the first half were very scrappy with lots of fouls and balls kicked out into touch. As the game went on, we took control and dominated more. Well done.
Sithole was really good - Ludick barely did anything while Sithole was winning the ball and shooting at every opportunity. Rumours are that Sithole wasn't exactly happy with the coach at being substituted at half-time while sitting on a potential hat-trick. ;)

I substituted him, so that his performance didn't get into his head too much :-) But let's hope it helps him with his form.. Usually the striker on the side where is the winger is the dominant one and receives most of the passes..Methula made a grat pass, although I have some doubts he wanted to execute it exactly this way :-D
Burton Felix is a nice talent ;-) Shame he is 19..But still U21 prospect, especially wth our 19 year old generation..Now we need couple more YP defenders. Actually even 1 would be just fine :-)

Ok so this is how you set up a tactic and it works to an absolute perfection :-) Finally we were on the other end as the luckier team. Wales outplayed us as expected (their MIDs marks, 54,57,62,68!!), but our 5 defenders hold their own, despite some boneheaded plays (that pass across our penalty area from Olivier) and Manyathi was our hero today as he saved at least 2 goals with great saves. I'm glad I put 5 defs as Theunissen neutralized that star winger, without 5 defs it could get ugly..

Sithole was useless otherwise, but he had tough job today and most importantly he did what he was suppose to do, score a goal from Methula's cross :-) Same with Ludick.
