Asunto: [NT] Carna

It seems South Africa skipped some seasons in providing decent youngsters with senior squad potential. The current leaders of our senior squad are all aged 29+, whereas the closest upcoming replacers aren't 26 yet, so we have to deal with an inevitable gap inbetween. Especially in the defensive position it's quite easy to see we'll have some troubles in -let's say- 2 seasons when the current defenders begin to decrease in skill. I am very satisfied to see, though, that there are some very, very decent 21y olds upcoming for next season.. We'll have a pretty decent squad when those 20 to 25 year olds are at their best together in senior squad.. But as said earlier, we'll have to manage with some troubles in replacing the current squad in 2-3 seasons. ;)

And we're facing al-Jazā’ir next week. Will be more or less the same line-up with opportunities for the youngsters.. If you'd have any other player I am not aware of yet, just tell me and he'll get his shot at glory in senior squad. It's very important to keep track of every single youngster who has minimum level of potential.

I think the database is in a good shape so you should have all the players available there, Marc took a good care of it as a former U21 coach, so there should be no one missing.
It's nice to see Theunissen, Nagoli and Methula (plus Felix) perform for the senior NT from my last years squad:-)
I will supply you with some more NT material for next season with Matsau, Molefe and Cole, they are certain future NT stars. Kalaka is our best 20 year old. Both of our GKs at the moment Lechesa and Tavlibudine are trained at should have future in NT also. And obviously we have those 2 19 year old monster strikers, plus possibly Methula, Sithole and Masenia, if trained they could may be help the team also, because other than Das Neves I don't see lot of U25 strikers..

Speaking of Felix, I haven't had any interest shown from the transfer topic.

I've got a very promising 17 year old junior coming in 2 weeks, so I'll probably look to put Felix on the market then.

I might ask some defense trainers in Czech about Felix, but they usually train youngsters..so if Carna knows somebody..

what is the talent and skill of that 17y old?

Skill only excellent (10) but talent around 3.5.
He started at 4 and hit 10 after 18 weeks. Could be 11 when pulled.

Guys are you sure you want Felix to be defender?
If not I might buy him myself for tech/mid/passing..

I put Felix on czech forum for NT players and after 20 minutes there is already 1st interest from defense trainer:-)

So Carna has to make up his mind what does he want from Felix, defender or MID :-)

Definitely a defender.. we have an enormous shortage of young upcoming defenders. On the other hand there are quite some decent young midfielders on their way to senior team. ;-)

And it looks there are some great youngsters upcoming from U21 indeed. Especially those 19y old monster strikers are very very welcome, because atm Das Neves is the only one indeed.

Btw guys, next week I'm leaving for a 12 day trip to Portugal with limited internet access. So it's quite possible I won't be able to arrange a friendly the week after. :( Just for your interest.

Another victory against Indonesia, 3-0 this time. Slightly adapted 5-3-2 worked out well. This makes it 5 victories in a row. ;)

Next up: Pilipinas, another one for the youngsters.

Absolutely! Comfortable win again; never looked in danger.

Yikes, the youngsters got a bit of a thrashing yesterday, losing 1-6 to Pilipinas.
It's a pretty harsh result considering we had 9 shots and they had 10.

Still, it's quite a shock considering the good season so far.

Yep the match looks pretty even..seems like our goalkeeper didn't have a good day..
