I couldn't agree more. I like the initail idea of using more combination play and take away the superhuman power of headers, but now the headers are nonexistant as even great strikers are shooting at the corner kick area even when they are wide open 2 metres from the goal, the back passing results in lots of stolen passes by strikers etc..What I don't like the most is the way players "accelerate" when they "kick the ball in front of them" and i can go on..
Indeed, there are some serious issues with the current ME. I do hate that last one you mentioned like hell, my striker suddenly stops running when he kicks the ball in front of him.. And I tell you, he does that often when he goes one-on-one with the keeper, bye bye certain goal opportunity.. It's sad and very, very unrealistic. Besides, I guess I won't play with divine defenders anymore.. it seems it just doesn't matter, they will get dribbled anyway. I really hope they'll do something about it soon, because it takes away lots of pleasure, but I honestly think it won't happen.
Edit: Don Enzo's game is only a single 'test', so hard to generalize for the whole working of this ME. But for sure it clearly tells us there is undoubtedly something fundamentally wrong.

I know his players were probably good enough to play adequately on any position on the field and as you said it is only 1 game, but unfortunately it is not uncommon and surprising result.
They changed the way players dribble through defenders from the front, it is easier now, my devine defenders get also dribbled by every game..Even our U21 defender Cole (who is at least 17 defender in high form) gets beaten by strikers who can't have higher than 10-13 technique. I don't mind that that much as defenders now need more secundaries like technique (from the back passes) Pm and passing, but the other issues and errors take away any positives ..

True story, but I keep on wondering why there doesn't seem to be any difference between 3x good secundaries and 3x formidable secundaries, they all just keep on playing like 3x tragic secundaries most of the time, really frustrating. ;)

hh well let me rephrase it, theoretically they should need more secundaries :-)
Interesting discussion you guys have going here. I also agree. Especially with the players kicking the balls out in front of them and then slowing down. It is a disgrace. I like the idea of more short passes, but the way the strikers are playing and acting is a concern when wide open is of major concern.

Felix has just hit divine pace, so I've opened a transfer topic for him.
Hopefully we can find someone willing to train him to senior NT levels, probably divine defender being the easiest target.
Similar players sold for 2m euro recently.

Well, I am willing to buy him, but he'll get pm/passing/technique then.. regarding the other upcoming youngsters, he has to be trained as a defender, though.
I think his price will be close to 3 M EUR than 2..
I could buy him also for tech/PM/pass, but Methula would be better for me ;-)

2-1 victory over Azerbayan, who are ranked higher than us! I adapted our tactic against Peru at some points and it worked out perfectly. Over 73 rating by the way, new record? ;-)
And MarcL, I am very sorry for Modise's injury.. he definitely is one of our key players regarding his recent form levels, so this loss is quite a pain in the ass.

Yeah, good result, but 2 injuries (+ a slight injury) and a red card. Ouch. Modise's one is long too, 24 days.
It's not too serious for me, since I'm not overly concerned about results and I'm facing the weakest team in our league tomorrow. As you say though, its a pain.
I'd better go and check my tactics/line-up for tomorrow.

Apart from a decent result, there wasn't much positive about this game indeed. ;)
Up next: as-Saʻūdiyya. This will be a full U25 with some new youngsters in senior squad!

A solid 2-0 win over as-Saʻūdiyya with a full B squad (apart from Lechesa). Some upcoming stars got their opportunity in senior squad. ;-)

It's good to see that we have a pretty decent squad of youngsters.
The performance was dominant, the only drawback really being that they only managed to score twice.
Six wins from nine matches so far this season is great. Keep it up!
On that note, who are we facing next week? The schedule I copied down has a gap here.

Thanks, I'm doing the best I can ;)
It seems South Africa skipped some seasons in providing decent youngsters with senior squad potential. The current leaders of our senior squad are all aged 29+, whereas the closest upcoming replacers aren't 26 yet, so we have to deal with an inevitable gap inbetween. Especially in the defensive position it's quite easy to see we'll have some troubles in -let's say- 2 seasons when the current defenders begin to decrease in skill. I am very satisfied to see, though, that there are some very, very decent 21y olds upcoming for next season.. We'll have a pretty decent squad when those 20 to 25 year olds are at their best together in senior squad.. But as said earlier, we'll have to manage with some troubles in replacing the current squad in 2-3 seasons. ;)
And we're facing al-Jazā’ir next week. Will be more or less the same line-up with opportunities for the youngsters.. If you'd have any other player I am not aware of yet, just tell me and he'll get his shot at glory in senior squad. It's very important to keep track of every single youngster who has minimum level of potential.
