Shame really, we had lot of chances to even win the game, if I saw corectly both Methula and Serola hit crossbars and Serola wasted another 2 1on1s..the Russian strikers on the other hand scored from everything, except the penalty..

I was also surprised by the winger, but as you said Lingard surprisingly played well there as well as Winstanley who created our 2nd goal, Russian coach definitely didn't expect this and we had tons of space there..

Our 1st loss after how many matches?

Russian coach definitely didn't expect this
indeed, he sent me a mail, telling me he was surprized ;-)

It was 23 matches unbeaten. :)

Two of those were against teams with higher marks (Czech Republic and Israel).

Our last loss was against Greece in a WC qualifier on 24 August 2012.
They also had higher marks than us.

By the way, our mark of 50.6 for this loss is our highest since playing Nigeria 9 matches ago.

yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

A fantastic 1:1 against Spain!
it's like a victory if you look at the players potentials of the two teams!
Honestly I hardly believed it before and during the game, especially when they scored such a stupid goal after a long pass who was rather hazard than intention and both Frederiks and Tavlibudine were outpaced by their Forward. But we played really well:
-The 5 defs did a great job and the def line was set on the right height to avoid breakthoughs from their forwards.
- They left us tons of space in the central midfield, which our mids could use...I think it was a good thing to place them rather centrally. Especially Winstanley and Ramulondi did a great job.
- Our Atts got a few chances and at least one of them led to the well deserved goal by Serola.

The point is absolutley deserved, not just a lucky ME-Mood! We had mre shots and at least as many 1:1 chances as they had. Posession and "play in half" is almost 50:50 as well. So no robbery there, but simply a great game by our youngsters! :-D

wow fantastic result! And we really hold our own! Really historical for SA considering how many users are in Spain..it would be crazy if we actually qualify over them..although we would be destroyed with next season's generation, but who cares:-)

indeed...we have nothing to lose!
