Asunto: [NT] Løs snak

Måske det var en ide for U/21 holdet at deltage i U/21 mini VM nu hvor der ikke er nogen officiel turnering på programmet??

Jov.... Men rejser på ferie 26/7 - 3/8 UDEN NET. Så må lige se tiden an, om jeg kan nå at arrangere venskabskampe osv.. Men må forsøge via mobiltelefonen.

Dear friends,

As you have probably noticed, I have decided not to run up for the position of your coach this season anymore. Firstly, I find myself running out of time a bit (or rather I would like to find out some time to spend on some of my projects, both Sokker related and out-of-Sokker-world ones too). Secondly, I found myself running out of luck recently in the most important matches (and likely out of skills too as the management of NT was becoming more and more a routine for me after those ~18 seasons with NT), which led us to end up third in the qualification group - but more about it a bit later in my traditional seasonal report.

I really loved the work here - and therefore I do not want just to say goodbye and leave forever. I will likely stay here in the role of a scout for your NT and I might come back and run up for some of your NT coaches one day again.

In the next season, I will likely keep out of the role of a coach of any national team (though my friends are now pushing me to put a candidature in Czech Republic just for fun to have more than one candidate here - but I am a bit afraid that if I would have accidentally won, my plans would have to overcome serious complication ;-)) I should focus now on the reconstruction of my team (which I began this season) and for the work for your NT as a scout. But well, we will see, this question is still open ;-)

So that's probably enough about my plans and feelings. Let's go to the report:

In this season, we were playing in a World Cup qualification group. I could have imagined much easier one. Bulgaria was clear favourite, and Cuba (despite being in the 3rd pot) was a really tough opponent - probably stronger then our team was. It all started well when Cuba drawn with Philipines and in the fifth round we managed to defeat them (we were a bit lucky though). However in the rematch we were defeated by Cuba (this time we were a bit unlucky) and they got quite close to us. In that time we had much better score so I still thought that our qualification should be just a matter of practice. But in the seventh round, Cuba managed to trash Thailand by whooping 12:0 and the score advantage turned on their side. And after we failed to convert at least one of our clear chances against Philipines one round later, we got in a desperate position. We had to achieve a similar result against Philipines as Cuba did, but a bad weather and an injury of our key player made that even more impossible than it was. But we still had an advantage of 3 points - the "only" thing we needed was to draw (at least) with Bulgaria. We almost succeeded - we lost 1:2 when the only goals we got were quite stupid. But that's just Sokker - and it is probably fair that Cuba got through, even though it is a bit painful that it's just by few goals scored.

The first half of the season was a big success (winning all matches except for the match with clear favourite from Bulgaria). Next two four matches weren't bad too I think. The loss with Cuba is painful, but the gameplay from our team was quite promising - and the week later the win against Czech Republic in a friendly was almost a dream. A dream that preceeded the disastrous rest of the season. As I said - the major problem came with the match with Philipines. I think that I have prepared the team for the match quite well, but we simply failed to score - and this have cost us the World Cup participation.


For the very last match of my campaign here as your U21 coach, I have scheduled a real challenge - match against team ranked #3 in the world, Germany.

Mini world cup kommer maks til at fylde uge 4-11..... så du kan også gå igang med at finde uge 1-2-3-12-13-14-15-00...... især de første tre uger burde du finde så du ikke står med håret i postkassen når du kommer hjem fra ferie... :)

Så blev kampprogrammet for den kommende sæson færdiglagt

Vores VM-Kval pulje har vi været heldige med den 1. seedede, Bosnien/Hercegovina, som ikke er meget stærkere end os, men holdet fra 3. seedningslag Mexico kunne stort set ikke trækkes værre. Så det tegner til at blive en meget åben kamp mellem de tre første seedede, med Albanien som vild joker der kan forpurre det for de andre hold. Og ja endda selv Indien kan være heldige og få et godt resultat mod et af de gode hold, så en meget åben og spændende gruppe.

I vores venskabskampe, har vi fundet nogle modstandere der ranking mæssigt ligger på niveau med os, men som vi er stærkere trupmæssigt end, og et par enkelte svære, men vi fik Polen med på de kun må bruge u/27 spillere mod vores A-hold, mod slutningen af sæsonen har vi en dog en svær kamp mod Tyrkiet og en svær U/et eller andet mod Holland (jeg tænker u/25 kunne være en ide, da vi har 3 angribere der til den tid er over 3x16 i den alder).... Hvis sæsonen går godt, kunne vi snildt solidere vores ranking placering, og måske endda få den bedste ranking mens jeg har spillet, men det kræver en god sæson.... :)
