World Cup - 05/01/2019
Österreich vs Danmark 1-1
On Saturday we had our return leg against Austria. I expected a tough match and it was. They started well with a penalty, fortunately we didn`t concede a goal, but after some minutes Byskov dribbled all their defence and scored a wonderful goal. They had some good goal chances, we have hit the bar for two times, finally it ended 1-1.
We have four remaining matches. Hope for the best!

Danmark vs Malta 4-0
Today Parken Stadium was the venue between Danmark and Malta. A kind of revenge match of the misfortune which happened into the first match. This time we did not give them any chance, total domination and a multitude of chances for Westerberg and Grejsen.
With three matches remaining we are on the 2nd place four points in front of Österreich.

Thailand vs Danmark 1-7
Yesterday was the 8th episode of the qualifying stage for the World Cup. The guys reacted good even though we had some missing players with injuries and red cards. It all ended in a easy win for us.
We have two important remaining games, next one with a massive importance, against the Czech Republic. Meanwhile, we have a one week break, playing a friendly against Portugal.

Friendly - 26/01/19
Danmark U28 vs Portugal U28 5-3
Yesterday Danmark played a friendly against Portugal. It was a U28 game as to give some training to the other players which haven`t played this season.
The game offered us a multitude of goals, a real spectacle. We still have problems with the GK position. Bonderup did not perform well at all, receiving so easy goals from far away.
The strikers did their job so the efficiency is overwhelming.
Next week is the moment of truth, we face the World Cup group leader and the best team, the Czechs.

I hate this game, but I love it at the same time. It is so unpredictable as real life football and the outcome can change at any time.

But like in football they equalize in 10, into the 82nd minute we miss a chance with Robertson all alone with the gk. And after 4 minutes the score the winning goal.
So unfair, but this is sokker. We still have one game left and on point in front on Austria. A win is like fresh air.

Tough luck, but I still think You have put us in a very good position to qualify. We should be able to beat Cyprus. And even if we fail, Austria must at least gtet a draw away against the Czechs.
This is our only lost game of this qualifying season, so it would be a pity not to qualify.
We will defenitely give our best next week.

World Cup here we come. A great win against Kypros, a definite 4-0 which offers us the 2nd place in the group and direct qualification to the VM.

Nice one - especially since the austrians got the 1 point against the czechs. Good work - congrats!
@elmomo: Bring Buhr again in playing form, I need him for the last U27/28 games of the season :D
Thanks! It was a wonderful qualifying season. It would have been amazing if not loosing against the Czechs, we would have ended with a clean sheet - not loosing at all :)
