Sokker - big changes are coming!
We are pleased to announce to you that the terms of the Sokker investment agreement have been set, which will ensure the further development of the game and its significant development. Work on the game update has already begun.
Under the contract, the game receives funds for further development, two new people join the group of owners, Raul and Mekene (formerly known as Boniex), who also join the group of developers in the game. They bring implementation and management knowledge as well as marketing to the design of the changes. Both of them have known Sokker almost from its beginnings, the more we are glad that we managed to get involved in the project people with the right motivation, who know the spirit of this game.
The Sokker change project involves a two-stage operation:
1. Securing the stability of the game in the context of the expiration of support for Flash technology in web browsers. In the coming months, individual elements of the game written in this technology will be replaced, starting with smaller elements, ending with the most time-consuming visualization of matches.
2. A significant upgrade of the game, which has not been supported in recent years. We plan major changes adapting the game to current times and current requirements, including both work on the interface, UX, graphics, but also the gameplay itself (additional options, changes and improvements to some of the current solutions). Also, the entire back end of the game will need to be rewritten and updated. The date of these changes will certainly be significantly longer, we will provide an approximate schedule after the first stage of work is completed.
Details about the development plan will be presented gradually within the SK community, at the same time we are planning a wide consultation of prepared changes as well as openness to new ideas. We hope that we can count on your support!
We strongly believe that this is a turning point in Sokker's history and the beginning of a return to his best years.

Raul to huberts
sure, I'm already referring, Pablo's very good questions, yes btw.
Goal
Yes, our goal is to fully reactivate the game and bring it to a state in which it will constantly develop. What does it mean? New managers will arrive, the game will be up to date in terms of technology and the needs of players. It will be attractive to current users who are the foundation and basis for it to succeed, but will also be designed to attract new managers.
We would like it to be clear to you - this is not a hobby attempt to save Sokker. Yes, we have a certain emotional relationship with Sokker and we think it's good, we understand the game, we know what works in it, what is attractive - but as we mention in the information, we are talking about an investment agreement - it is important for you to understand that after many years of lack Game development is currently in such a state that its recovery is not only a matter of our private commitment, but the need to incur specific investments (and significant) to pay for the development team, finance its development.
We are talking about a contract, which is why it was created to be executed. Specific funds will be allocated to the development of the game, we will also devote our time, ideas and skills to run this project.
This does not mean, however, that we are interested in commercialization of the game - you do not have to be afraid of sudden elements such as pay2win, or other paid options that will kill the spirit of Sokker. We believe that this game has tremendous potential that has not come about not because something is missing, but rather because many of its advantages are not properly discovered or developed.
Plowing?
no, I think there is no such risk at the moment. As we mentioned, the project has two stages. The first stage will protect him from extinguishing the light, but the contract was concluded primarily with the latter in mind. The first (i.e. Flash) will be made, there is no doubt here. The success of the second stage is probably hard to predict at the moment, but it is unlikely to close the game here :)
Relations
The project we run is a collective effort of four people. Mekene and I have known each other for many years, we respect and like each other, and we have worked together on the entire recovery plan. This is the thing we've spent the last few months on. We have a fairly clear strategy and idea prepared, which we presented to Greg and Damian. Based on these conversations, we have concluded the final agreement - everyone, all four of us know in which direction we are heading and what we want to achieve. We have established issues of decision-making between us and many key elements discussed. I would be quite optimistic here.
Greg and Damian are also very involved in these changes, although you probably mainly see us in communication;). However, there is a lot of work in the back room that will not be seen on the forum and their support is invaluable. We think together that a big plus of the current investment agreement is also the appropriate selection of competences between us. We hope that we and Mekene will introduce to the game what previously may have been missing - managerial, communication and marketing skills, we plan these changes not from the level of individual improvements, but rather from a holistic recovery plan. Greg and Damian give us a lot of developer and historical knowledge that completes the entire puzzle.
Definitely, I hope the 2d viewer will be possible to be kept and other improvements shall be applied.
Raul to BAFI
As for deadlines, it's just like in the announcement:
1. The part about flash changes and ensuring game stability will be relatively fast - the next few months.
2. More comprehensive changes - here we will be able to declare something after determining the final scope of this work, and this we want to consult with you, so for now it is very difficult to predict (and of course much longer than the first part).
Wauw, the timing is... wauw.
I'm sooo close to giving up. PLUS expired. Games missed. Guess I have to see this happening, after all these years of nothing.

Go for it guys! We have waited a lot for these news!

Yes, but we do have heard so many promises before, and all we got was 5 minute wait for a game and a stupid facebook integration :D
+ I hope the will drop using resources on the 3D engine and give us back the old junior system. That's an instant plus membership for me right there.

Now the devs are working on the flash expiration. All the bugs and issues will be presented to them, tell us what are your main issues.

I'm sure you guys have already covered bugs as you play more intense than me.
Development Diary 2: MAIN GUIDELINES
Today we would like to share with you the main assumptions of the changes that we intend to introduce. Thank you for a very lively discussion and many ideas that you shared with us, and for a very consistent definition of what is most valuable in Sokker, which you would absolutely like to keep.
The assumptions we have prepared will be a guideline for us in assessing various solutions and creating new ideas, will give a clear direction to work on the development of the game.
THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME
At the beginning we would like to share with you what will not change. In the consultations we conduct with you in these few elements, there is practically full compliance, moreover, we also fully agree with you:
No pay2win - The game was and will be fully fair. We want you to not get paid bonuses giving a real advantage over players without a subscription. Of course, the game requires revenue to develop and maintain (especially in the context of required changes), so we will work on the current PLUS so that it is more attractive, but we will not make any changes that will allow "buying" a better position in the game or paying for other improvements .
Match engine, tactics and 2D visualization - These elements will be changed only to the extent that they are forced by technological issues (rewriting the game code, replacing Flash). The big advantage of the game is the possibility of real impact on the course of meetings in which we see how players implement our tactical assumptions. Visualization itself is simple and intuitive, we will develop it, but we will try not to lose its original climate.
Simplicity of play - The basic elements of competition in Sokkera are simple and easy to conduct, it is also easy to notice the impact of individual decisions on various elements of the game. We are not going to complicate the game by unnecessarily expanding it with a multitude of new options, although some elements will be changed or expanded. When designing new solutions, we will try to make them an option for those willing and more involved, and not a necessity for every player.
Moderate pace of the game - Sokker stands out from the background of fast, mobile games and we think it is its big advantage. The game requires patience and thinking, it allows you to adapt to the lifestyle of different players - there is no significant difference in the effectiveness of running a club between people logging in daily and people whose time allows to enter the game every few days. However, some elements will be changed - this is due to the fact that the current length of the season scares off new players.
Community - Sokker is not only building your own club, but also an unusual atmosphere that has been created around the game. We will make sure that the forum and relationships between players are alive, we do not want to change too much in these areas, we will only add a few minor permissions to facilitate contact or expression.
AREAS OF CHANGE
So what will change? Below you will find key areas that we believe need to be overworked. These are not specific ideas yet, we mark you more certain elements of the game that will be worked out.
Play to win - currently the game mechanics are not conducive to fighting for the highest positions, promotions, pulling the maximum from their teams. We will propose solutions that change this, giving you additional motivation to win, more games in which there will be the opportunity to compete. Currently, the biggest problem of the game is the fact that the development of the club is possible only if we treat the second match as a training meeting. For this reason, we will optimize the training system, which, although going out of the current assumptions (weekly training and waiting for Thursday jumps will not change) will not force players to put all players to the game during the week so that they can train.
Optimization of the competition calendar - we want to address the problem of an unusually long season in Sokkera (only 3 full seasons are played during the year, which effectively discourages many beginners), while giving managers the chance to compete in various types of competition. We will propose a new game system that will shorten the season, slightly accelerate the pace of the game, and add a completely new Cup in which all teams will participate. We will provide details for consultation in a few weeks.
Game balance - due to the long history of the game, it is quite clear which areas of the game are not balanced. We currently have a very large pool of top players, often even in 3-4 leagues (e.g. in PL), the transfer system rewards traders and encourages slow fundraising in low leagues, waiting for the moment of investing in the team, new players have a very large difficulty breaking through (the gap between the lowest level of play and the next).
These issues are very complex and require minor adjustments at many levels that will make the game much more balanced. We want to improve the mechanics, which on the one hand will encourage to play in the highest possible league, but at the same time the development of the beginner team will be much faster than the advanced player, it will be much more difficult to complete and train the composition of stars, the differences between levels of games will be less drastic. To achieve this, some adjustments will be required at the level of game economy, training speed (e.g. high skills), and many small parameters that we need to analyze and adjust.
Easy to learn, hard to master - Sokker is a simple game, it will remain so. But many options in the game have the potential to be extensive, with the overriding issue being their freedom - we want to give players the opportunity to decide how much they want to delve into certain topics. This point describes a general game philosophy that we want to follow, you will see its development both at the interface level, for more advanced options (such as managing a stadium or a junior school). This point also applies to a large extent to beginners, who in our intention will have to be properly managed, we are also considering blocking some options at the very beginning of the game so that they do not make basic mistakes.
Goals and achievements - not everyone will have the opportunity to play for the highest goals, there are few places on the podium of the highest classes and it will be difficult to fight for them. But we know that each of you has their own individual goals and aspirations, they relate to different areas of the game, you get joy from various types of activities. That is why we will create tools that will also enable the achievement of more achievable goals, from certain seasonal challenges, by tracking the development of our own team over time, to comparing in various rankings, not only those related to sports results alone.
The story - a very important element for us, but not yet present in the game. Many managers create a story on their own, various rankings, historical summaries, club magazines and even grassroots initiatives to create Sokker magazines are created. Certainly most managers would like to feel that their clubs are alive, writing their history, players become legends, and the game world is dynamic and full of events. The story will be introduced in several areas:
Dedicated news tab - where we will receive various fictionalized information about our club, from match summaries, training reports, to assistant tips and much more.
Extensive statistics and records - we will prepare new information about the game so that it is possible to check different types of combinations, both relating to our club, a given type of competition and players.
Observation - the opportunity to receive news unrelated to our club, if we are interested in them - representation, specific games, players, etc.
Elimination of bots in the game - Sokker is primarily a competition between managers, clubs deprived of them will be withdrawn from the games. We will present you with a system to eliminate bots in such a way that after each season they will be removed.
New graphics and UX - The game will be redesigned for a more friendly interface and arrangement of elements, including a hint system or tutorial. Also the graphics of the game will change to make it more attractive and adapted to the present time. However, fans of classic looks don't have to worry - we'll try to leave historical skins.
Is this a lot of change? Rate it yourself, of course, welcome to the discussion. In summary, we just want to point out that the areas we share are not revolutionary in relation to the game. We try to base ourselves on what is best in it now, breaking out and developing these elements more. In the coming weeks, we will share detailed solutions with you, discussing specific issues.
today at the Denmark - Norway national team match I noticed the team changes were no longer shining with the inscription we have euro 2012, but progression sokkker :)
