Hello to the entire Danish community. My name is Gastón, I'm 39 years old. I've decided to apply for the U-21 national team. They contacted me, and I've also spoken with the current U-21 coach. It would be a long-term project, at least two seasons, with which I could play friendlies and then qualifiers. The main goal is to climb the rankings and monitor the youth players.

I'll tell you about my experience with the U-21 national teams. I coached the Colombian U-21 national team quite some time ago (where they climbed the rankings after taking over the team in a very poor position). Many people don't take this into account, but the truth helps when it comes to putting together groups. In their best season, they reached the round of 16 of the World Cup after a long time without achieving that at the time. In the World Cup group, they finished first, overtaking Italy (a 0-0 draw), winning against Portugal (1-0), and winning against Venezuela (2-0). In the round of 16, they lost to Belgium, who were superior and eliminated us.
I also coached the Nicaragua U-21 national team, with which they climbed significantly in the rankings, reaching position 64 after starting a couple of seasons ago at the bottom of the rankings. Players were monitored for the future since the community was very small.
The last experience was with the Egyptian U-21 team, with which they made history by finishing third for the first time in history and also tied for second place, missing out on the World Cup due to goal difference, with a community with no users.

Hello Community, I'm asking, what do you think about participating in the U-20 Friendly Cup? I've observed, and it seems there isn't much material available, especially for U-20 players. They need to be trained well this season to be able to face the qualifiers later. While sometimes good results are achieved with less-performing teams, this isn't always the case. It's mainly due to the ranking, and also because players no longer train in international friendlies. I'm looking for your opinions on the U-20 Cup participation, whether or not to participate. I always say there are qualifiers to face the powerhouses, but you can participate with what you have, but with the U-20 material available. Regards.

The u20 cup during wc is perfect. You will get good matches to up ranking in and u20 you get to know the team for qualification which can help a bit in picking tactics
I'd never noticed the format of this cup before. They draw the pairings based on the ranking of four pots if there are 32 teams registered.
They select a pot for you, and you move up or down depending on whether you win or lose the match. I've never seen this format before.
There are several cups; sometimes they organize tournaments from Asia or Africa with guests. Whatever you want, we can play this competition. And I'm going to start looking for opponents for the rest of the season. It would be good to climb the rankings and get into pot 2 for another season, but as I said, we need to strengthen the training of the U-20 players at their respective clubs.

Oeh i thought it was based by ranking, so with australia cause we are 27th ranking we wont participate..... thats why i thought it would be good for danmark
You lose a game by a landslide and your ranking drops significantly. It can happen, however, playing against opponents of a lower level and ranking. In the last qualifying match with Egypt against Portugal, I edged out about 50 points by beating them. We'll keep an eye on things and try to maintain our ranking, and even climb higher. We'll surely be invited to friendlies as soon as the elections are over. But the most important thing is training the best players we have. In the future, I only see a good goalkeeper who turns 20 and is out of form, all to be evaluated when there aren't many to choose from. The good stuff starts with those who have youth academy teams and so on, but that takes seasons, and players in the U21s don't last long due to age.

We have like 14-15 active juniorschools last i checked, sry to hear we have a drought on players
The current coach very nicely offered to pass them on to me, but I'll see them carefully when the selection is over. You can also search for them by posting on the Sokker International forum. Enter the player's country, age, and position, and it will show you what's really available, including the current squad.
Thank you all so much for your support. We'll be in touch.
Congratulations my friend, I wish you success with Denmark.
