hmm,

i have some players who sometimes do not hold the ball for even a second.

when the ball is in their vicinity they kick it (they pass it without controlling the ball first).

i think that is what they call "one touch pass"

I got some beautiful ONE touch Passes in my last game (visually), i never check the report about it!!

u talking about whenthe ball is sitting on the ground somewhere and a defender clears it?

do you think those are 1 touch passes or just very high playmaking reaction time passes that seem almost 1 time?

I have not seen a player of mine do this in some time but I used to see it quite often. What i'm talking about is playing a header to himself. I think it may fall under controlling.

I believe that one touch pass happen because of high PlayMaking Skill, A real Playmaker should know where is team mates are even without looking at them, that's why he should be able to give the ball away in the fastest and precise (combine with passing) way possible. This is why we want PM in our defenders, so they can make the right decision, and in our MID i like when they do ONE touch Passes that can get the Opponent team unbalanced or out of position.

HEADER: i'm not sure how the 50-50 are regulated, but in regular header they should be regulated as regular passing, or in the case of an ATT trying to score as regular shot.

they only head to themselves when theres no one else near them to head it at

Just to say that given the interest, maybe it was not such a newbie question ;)

i would think that technique would be used to figure out who wins the 50-50 header.
playmaker would then be used to decide where the ball would go.
passing would then be used to decide the quality of the pass.

of course, i could be wrong.
