Asunto: MONEY
i don't really remember how long it took me to get to 30 spaces in youth school, but i've been losing money pretty much every week since starting. of course, i come from the jonandabby school of player development, so i have made a killing selling guys I either bought for less than $2k or pulled from youth school. if you have the players that will come out like jon said, you should keep them.
I agree, but in this case, even when he got out he was immediately better than probably any other GK (his goalkeeping was incredible) in B-league and could have been sold for millions. For me it made more sense to keep him and play him and train him, cause I could not otherwise get the player of that caliber.
I guess how you play is also the matter of preference and what you like more, to try to develop youth players from your YS into starters and maybe even national team members or to sell them and use that money to buy players that can help you immediately. Whatever gives you more thrill is the way to go.

training your pulls is fine and all, im just saying that wasnt the topic of discussion really. it boils down to whether its worth having a youthsquad, or simply saving that money you would have spent every week on spots and coaching and just buying young players exactly how you want them to be instead. of course you could get lucky with a pull, but theres a very large chance you wont. i dont tell my mentees what to do either way, i just make them aware of this risk they take
and btw you cant pull someone with higher than excellent in a skill, so you saying your player came out of your squad with incred keeper worth millions cant be true, no offense

Maybe it was lower than 13, I can't remember since it was 3 seasons ago. Actually, I just added him to NTDB.
Yeah, I know that now.:)
back to the topic, I'm in B-League (finished 3rd this season) and had like 4-5 YS spots, but now I'm gonna start expanding it to like 10-15. I didn't know that people have as much as 30 spots. One thing is that when I get a new player in the YS on Saturday, if he's at less than 4 (weak) or 5 (average), I kick him out. Is that the way to go or do you keep even the players that are initially tragic?

usually don't keep the tragic ones unless they slip through past me and then pop that next week..
thats fine except for if they wont age in your squad you should keep them probably down to unsatisfactory or poor
ie pretty soon the age increase happens, so guys who enter your squad 14 weeks or less can be 16yo. and a poor guy can move up to average easily, and all it takes is an average pull to get a 16yo 3xaverage striker to sell for a few hundred k

Tnx, I didn't know that they age in the YS. I thought that age at exit of the YS was random and that it's better if they are in YS for 25-30 weeks.
nope they age just as your regular players do.
basically, they start out anywhere from 16-18 in ages. Everytime your players age up every 15 weeks blah blah so do your juniors.
