looks good to me!

what's the purpose of Serola (nr 10 in the tactic) playing lower than the two other forwards?

wouldn't it be better if he'd play on the same height?
2012-12-31 11:19:29
He has the technique and mid skills to hande it. Also he is the one I don't want to get into offsides..
He can pull the defense towards him and make holes in it..he played like that the whole season, worked just fine so far :-)
2012-12-31 11:53:23
ok, great. I wasn't aware he played like that all season. it indeed worked out very well ;-)

Indeed, especially with his form:-)

It's gonna be my good bye match versus Australia as U21 coach so wish me good luck.
Australia is ranked higher than us (47th in the World), so I expect tough match. Nevertheless I will try to increase our unbeatable streak to 20 matches.

We are gonna play our classic pyramid 433 this time, tactic that is unbeaten so far :-)

We are facing some form issues, especially with Ramulondi and Morris, both whom would be starters with decent forms. Unfortunately also Methula's form is droping, which is not good news before the WCQ. On the other hand Serola and Ledwaba are long term in high form..so hopefully they'll keep it through the WCQ campaign..

Here is the squad:

1 Jeffrey Tavlibudine GK
2 Louis Maselesele DEF
3 Musawenkosi Ngwenya DEF
4 Sibusiso Fredericks DEF
5 Granwald Mabedi DEF
6 Marco Lingard MID
7 Ricky Winstanley MID
8 Shingayi Kalaka MID
9 Thabiso Ledwaba ATT
10 Arthur Serola ATT
11 Valentine Methula ATT

12 Jan Walker GK

16 Musa Doxakis MID

It's a good test for the new u21 squad. All the best!
2013-01-11 14:00:25
a tough test, good luck for your goodbye-game!

I observe some form-evolution with quite some sorrows as well...doesn't make our task in the WCQ easier, unfortunately.

Next week, we'll play a friendly against Cameroun.

They play pretty defensively and compact in the center. That's why I 'll try a tactic with the midfield a little more spread wide than the last two games.
Anyway, I won't change tactics and lineup totally as there's no need and not many alternatives either.

I still would like to test some new players:

- Lerato Morris has the best defender skills after Fredericks, he just lacks concerning form. I'll try to see how he does as his defender skills might be precious against Russia and Spain. Mabedi has sinking form unfortunately and will take place on the bench instead.
- Andre Lutumba and Shaun Ramulondi did great in the Nigeria-game, so they'll both get to play again, especially with Kalakas injury. Ramulondi even as Def-Mid from the beginning.
- Arthur Letsholonyane is developing perfectly and quickly and he's our future in Midfield for the next seasons. reason enough to give him his first appearance, replacing Ramulondi during the game.

1. Jeffrey Tavlibudine GK
2. Louis Maselesele DEF
3. Sibusiso Fredericks DEF
4. Musawenkosi Ngwenya DEF
5. Lerato Morris DEF
6. Shaun Ramulondi MID
7. Ricky Winstanley MID
8. Marco Lingard MID
9. Thabiso Ledwaba ATT
10. Arthur Serola ATT
11. Valentine Methula ATT

12. Jan Walker GK
13. Granwald Mabedi DEF
14. Bheki Lingard ATT
15. Andre Lutumba MID
16. Arthur Letsholonyane MID

Set pieces
Free kick: Arthur Serola
Penalty kick: Arthur Serola

Conditional orders
1' red card or no player Shaun Ramulondi on position 1
1' red card or no player Shaun Ramulondi on position 2
1' red card or no player Shaun Ramulondi on position 3
1' red card or no player Shaun Ramulondi on position 4
1' red card or no player Shaun Ramulondi on position 5
60' always Andre Lutumba on position 7
60' always Bheki Lingard on position 11
75' always Arthur Letsholonyane on position 6

The tactic will follow next week. i will not create an entirely new one, but ruther adapt a solid, proven tactic.
2013-01-26 15:45:54
Yeah Letsholonyane :-)

Tough to go with 2 hopeless form guys, but I would probably try them also..Good luck!

Ramulondi is up to poor form, what a progress, yeah...;-))

here's the tactic for friday. As you can see nothing quite new..;-)

2013-01-31 17:41:38
And Ramulondi weak form ;-) Serola and Ledwaba 18 form and Methula 14 that's good.-)
Letsholonyane had another pop today, 2 weeks + 6 GT to VG technique, but his form is dropping..

2013-01-31 17:43:09
Tactic is nice..may be find a better solution for offensive throw ins around penalty area? May be move a striker closer..
2013-01-31 18:40:55
indeed good news about the form :-)

and you're right about the throw ins. I'll adapt that. Thanks for the input!
2013-03-01 20:03:37
well...a very close 4:3 victory against Guatemala.

they have a very promising team with some great 19 and 20 year old. Their tactic with a winger was clever, especially as the winger showed Nyathi seriously his limits...
the 3rd of their goals was a stupid drop of our keeper.
our mid's today played quite well offensively, but lack defensive skills, which mad the opponents MIDs walk through.
Johnson played quite well and Letsholonyane showed his potential sometimes.
Only Doxakis was a total fail today. his positioning in the tactic wa not good enough and in his shape he ha no chance.
fortunately we had our other 2 strong forwards...;-)
