I honestly don't like attackers that close to eachother.. They're constantly moving in eachother's way instead of creating space. If your opponent's defenders are positioned well, your strikers will be mostly covered. And I don't like those strikers swapping places randomly every second :p Strikers should move, but you have to do it in an efficient way.. Let them move in a different way. For instance, when one striker goes wide and deep, the other pulls back a bit. That's how to create space and avoid non-stop coverage by the defenders.. Of course you can swap them sometimes, for instance when the ball is on the deep side, they could instantly swap places and one of them can move towards the first post. These things work, just check some of my tactics you have ;-)
2013-01-21 21:28:32
You know I did check some of your tactics and I changed the strikers instantly :-P

I swear there is a purpose in the madness:-) You can see in some of the movement, 1 striker is going to the side as bait while the other is accelerating forwards:-) In reality they don't really move like that, they are just running close to each other confusing defenders:-) The good part is when the defender tackles the ball from 1 striker the other can steal it back immediatelly. Not to mention I've seen it work, it does work, we've been playing like this our whole season with U21:-)
Also Kypros beat Slovakia with this striker tactic:-)
I like it so far, I'm sticking with it, If it won't work I will change it as you (and Doglo also) are saying

But thanks for your inputs:-)
2013-01-24 20:28:39
I've made some changes in defense after the form update..
2013-01-27 20:53:54
So question....which 4 defenders would you use against Malta?

I'm planning to use more offensive tactic, with our mids and defense higher..
2013-01-27 21:01:57
something like this, what do you think about the defense movement, is it too much?
(editado)
2013-01-28 10:27:48
I personally would pull the defensive line one field back in the two levels behind the midline (in our defense). the movement would be a little less this way. but basically I like the movement this way, creating some pressure on their attack/midfield

2013-01-28 16:17:55
Yeah exactly, I had the movement like you said previously, but decided to move the defense in that spot 1 field up:-) That's why I'm asking if it's not too much:-)

hmm so now I'm not sure..:-)
2013-01-28 16:49:50
well, on the other hand it's a friendly and why not try something new for once...;-)
2013-01-28 21:18:55
I'm gonna play defense like that in the Czech Cup first to see how it looks:-)
2013-01-31 21:32:24

It will be very prestigious match for me against Danmark since I know their coach adaca very well (I've changed my training strategy thanks to his advices:-) and I'm helping their U21 coach ostulc and i have access to ther association and database.-)
It will be a very difficult match especially after our last 2 dissapointning performances. We are missing both Cameron and Lechcesa, so we have no choice but to play with 1 striker..this time I will keep the defenders very low and try to minimize their struggles. The gap between defense and mids in some positions could be troublesome, so Zulu and Rhose will have to run like supermans, I'm trying to keep as much pressure in the midfield as possible:-)
We have nothing to loose in this match anyway..
Ashley Champion will celebrate his comeback after long time in terrible form, he will play the crucial role of attacking mid/winger.

Sorry for late preview but as I said I wasn't online..so at least some quick info..we will play Japan U25 with 2 players from "A squad" allowed on both sides. I will play 9 players that I use to coach in U21..I've decided for Howard Lechesa as BDN is our only U25 striker and T. Bax who will play winger. We haven't seen winger tactic in senior NT for long time, so I want to try it, Japan might not expect it.

We will play 4-1-2-1-2..

1. Fabien Lechesa GK
2. Henry Theunissen DEF
3. Dominic Cole DEF
4. Jan Nagoli DEF
5. Fabian Olivier DEF
6. Joel Felix MID

Ghana is a bit weaker team, so we are gonna give opportunity to some of our youngsters again and start very offensive line up with defmids Zulu and Rhode on wing defense.

They usually play very low defense and strikers very high, so we will try high offside system and put pressure on them with a winger.

Squad:

1. Humphrey Katongo GK
2. Wade Zulu DEF
3. Dominic Cole DEF
4. Jan Nagoli DEF
5. Alexander Rhode DEF
6. Oscar Methula MID
7. Jimmy Molefe MID

to avoid any bad interpretation:

I don't post him because I expect him to play this saturday ;-)

in contrary: I need him in top shape for my team as i managed to get to the swiss cup final! :-))))
(even if I won with a lot of luck in the semifinal...;-)

Don't worry he'll get his chance..he is the best U22 MID, but he is still too young, Molefe and Felix are better U25 defmids

and GL in the Swiss Cup Final!
