Asunto: Friendlies

Nigeria are probably a bit better than you think they are. Ranked at 46 just now is higher than teams like Japan and Latvia who we were taking 8 off last season with our first team. Our first team v Nigeria would have no doubt produced similar results but i dont see the point in that. This was a chance to give guys like Douglas and Dickov a run out whilst still being trained at 25 aswell as playing two or three younger ones to level the playing field.

I called this a B squad but in reality it was mostly a C or even D squad.

Next friendly is a good one, chances are we'll get hammered though.

A trip to Wembley beckons for the first team squad this week so get your updates in please :)

England 3 Scotland 3

Funny old game, despite leading 3-1 but being under the cosh for the majority i'm happy with a draw against a top 10 ranked country. Our defence has improved immensely and we actually had a striker net a hat-trick

A top defender and our top striker missing means that i'm claiming this result as a moral victory :)

why leave your top striker on the bench then? ;)

He was actually scheduled to come on, but the early injury to Coyle or the keeper (cant remember and i've had a skinfull) meant that the subs were used up :(

He'll start next week to make up for it.

i should keep my typeee shut, injury on the cards now .

hope that double bluffs the injury gremlin.

England were missing around 5-7 first XI players today I believe due to injury and/or bad form. Not sure how many exactly, certainly 3 injuries, but form is more objective!

I was pretty peeved to have ever conceded 3 goals, but ended up fairly happy to come away with a draw. I was beginning to think that we were going to get some insane bad luck at 3-1 down and a CB down!

Next up is a friendly v Wales.

Not an easy game after yesterday's bloodfest. we will now have a few missing first choice players due to injury/form/suspension including a keeper, 3 defenders and our best two strikers.

Time to test the depth of the squad now :)

Orders are set, hopefully our depleted squad can restrict the Welsh to just 3 or 4 goals.

We could do without any further casualties tomorrow as next week see's my last game in charge of the NT and i'll go out with a toughie against Finland.

Tomorrow's match kicks off at 1pm sokker time.

Old Bob in the Welsh goal played a blinder, usually the quality of the crossing that we got from Craig today would have produced a goal or two, cant quite believe that we only manged to score with penalties, however a wins a win and i'll take it.
